Hey dude...

I seen your site and looked around it a lot, you seem to be a very knowledgable man on Patrols post-1980. Here in the USA we have 60 series Patrols sold from 1961-1969....what I am getting at is I have heard a lot of rumors that some of the drivetrain from 1980-1993 Patrols will bolt in or bolt in with little mods to our old 60 series Patrols. Such as 87-89 5 speed tranny/transfer and the 84 HD axels, engine I am sure will require a fair share of work. Do you know anything about this? I know the 60 series was sold in Switzerland but not much else in Europe. I am contemplating a conversion using late model Patrol engine (turbo Deisel) and tranny/transfer, 5 speed with lower crawler than stock 29:1. This will be mated to Volvo C-303 portal axels with stock lockers. I have a good rig for conversion, know where to get late model engines and drivetrain used and can also locate the C-303's but have no clue on how much modifications or custom work will be required to fit all this to a stock 60 series Patrol. The C-303 diffs will adapt fairly easily but the rest is a mystery.....any comments, help or points in the right direction would be most excellent! Possibly I should just by manuals for the later models and figure it out myself....?

Thanks....

Ian
