I acquired a weber carb for free. Now I need to know if it will work for my Pat!

1. Were did you buy that adapter four bolt to our 2 bolt intake? I remember the posting you made a long time back with a photo but I can't seem to find it.

2. The carb is a 2 barrel w/ electric choke? Did yours have an electric choke? If so do I just supply switch power to it and it will do its job?

Here are the carb numbers...
3236 DFAV 23AFO I'm trying to find out the cfm of this bad boy. It has one vac line and looks to have the main air/fuel mixture and a secondary adjustment.

Weber 32/36 ... *shiver*

They are decent carbs if you get a good one.. but I had a ton of problems with the one I had on my 510.

I had a 32/36 DGV.. on a 1.6L engine.. On the Z's, they used two of them for 2.8L. Im sure it could work on the patrol, but the biggest problem I had with the 32/36 is that its expensive to tune and finicky at best when it was in tune. I have fond memories of tearing down the carb almost every week in the parking lot at ASU so I could get home.

Jets are ~$10 each (6 of them in the carb), plus 2 $30 emulsion tubes, it takes a slew of them and trial and error to get the carb running the way it should. The cheapest way to do it is to find someone that has a huge jet/tube assortment that can swap them out until the engine is happy. I ended up giving away 4-5 32/36 DGV carbs and a big box of jets when I finally got fed up with it.

Ouch... Frown Maybe it is not even worth it. I just know that my Rochester needs to be rebuilt again and I'm not interseted in doing it at all.

Yeah, I don't really know what is best about using different jets. Should I get higher altitude ones, they would be smaller (less O2 so I need less fuel right)?

Any ideas about the electric choke? Do I just give it power and it does the rest?

Yeah, thanks for the info. But I've decided to stay with my original plan and do the throttle body mod. I'll let all of you know how it goes.

I don't recall what model of Weber I used, I did get it from Clifford. The carb worked excellent, around town no problems at all, with the limited 4x4in' I did it also worked great. The truck started a number of times no probs in below zero cold. It also felt like it had a touch more power than the red 66 with stock carb. Choke is electric, simply a ground wire and a hot wire to the fuse box was all it ook. Throttle linkage was also easy to fit once the carb was on the manifold.

Hope that helps....
