Ok Here is the deal, John I know has already seen this, but: I am new to the kl60 world, but a few months ago I stumbled across two very strange trucks, parked under a lean to and my girlfriends, granpas old Big rig shop. I took me about ten min. to figure out what the heck these things were, because there was no markings anywhere, eventually I found a small badge that said Nissan on it. That just didnt make any sence at all, I had never heard of what was obviously a 60's-early 70's Nissan that resembled my beloved jeeps and fj40s. The steering wheel said PATROL on it. It was the coolest thing I have ever seen. So I spent some time off and on looking up information on them and found out they are super rare. One of them is about 95% complete and ran at one time but now needs a lot of TLC, the other is completly gutted, where basicaly its a shell rolling on tires. (no engine, tranny, t-case, seats, etc.)
I know that finding the parts will be next to immpossinble, but I just read a few posts where you all talked about the pros and cons of complete restoration and the wheeling aspect. Of course i agree with both sides of the arguement, and I will either restore the first and use it as a nice stock vintige truck, or sell it to some one who will give it the life it deserves. However the other gutted one I would like to set up as a pretty heavy duty wheeler, with a Chev 350, nv4500, and mostly Chev parts to keep cost down and modifications easy.(One thing i could never, ever, ever bring myself to doing is cutting up the fenders or other sheetmetal) My question to you guys is: are the parts I need to restore the second availiable, either through one of you or otherwise? Is it worth the time and cost if i can get my hands on parts that there is next to none of? And is the $1400 the guy who owns them is asking worth two unfinnished, low rust, kl60 Patrols? I am super super excited about joining the world of Patrols, in fact im selling my set up 74 cj5 to do so. I would like any and all feed back you guys can give me on this!

Yep, Fudd can get you anything you might need for your patrols.. his website is here: http://www.rmp-o.com/

yes, 2 patrols are definitely worth $1400.. especially if one of them is 95% complete. They go for $3-4k here in stock running condition. Did you check the VIN #s on them? There were only a few thousand of these trucks ever sold in the US.

And BTW, Welcome to the board!! You are in the right place for Patrol info!

heres mine... still needs a lot of work, but someday it'll be trailable:

It has a Ford 302 v8, c6, np205, rearched springs + spring over d44 & 9" 4.11:1 w/ lockright in rear, rancho 5012s, fuel cell, bucket seats, etc..

Yeah man,

Grab em up! A cj is a dime a dozen. So don't worry about it. However beware, once you join the Patrol circle you can never stop! Strange

Heya...Arion I think you called me today. If your in the Denver area I got the message. Sorry was busy all day and in the shop till about 9pm.

Next...John, that P-troll screams one thing. I am a BAD ASS P-TROLL!! Eek Get it on the trail man that thing is sweet!

Welcome to N4W Arion! While this forum is small for P-trolls it is tight and these guys ALL know what they are talking about. Wink You are also welcome over at my forum on www.rmp-o.com which I have been spamming the boards there reguarly for a week! Chug

What you have started to experience is the P-troll addiction. I know many many guys just like you who stumbled onto them and fell for the trucks. They almost all now own 3 or 4 P-trolls. They are addicting, extremely fun, easy to work on, rare and semi expensive for parts. I can supply you with 98% of what you would need to restore a Patrol. The truck is easy and fun to work on, it is built to last and only 2616 sold in the USA. They are gaining in value a lot and will continue to increase. I sold a very nice stock 66 today for $10,000. Last week I sold a semi stock very nice 64 for $7500. So they are worth the time, work and money to rebuild.

Here is my suggestions. First get the $1400 and run over there and buy them as soon as you can. With 2616 sold here 40 years ago how long do you think and how many chances do you think you have on 2 Patrols? If you don't buy them someone else will end up doing it. Get them home and get the stocker running. Title it and drive it, they are fun to learn to drive. Experience the 40 year old brute. Next, tear into the parts truck. Put what ever you like under it and make it live again. You can drive one and work on the other this way at all times.

Personally I see no other choice! banana smiley4

Its lifted about 6"-8" or so w/ the rearched springs and springover conversion.. Add the 36" tires to that, and its a lot of lift. It sits really tall. It just barely went under the 7ft garage door at my old house... by about 1/8"
