Go to www.bcbroncos.com and check out the digital guage cluster they have on there. I was thinking about using something like that... looks like it might be possible to make it fit...

I just installed a guage pod. Go to the local Wal-Mart and get ya one of those Ammeter/Temp/Oil Pressure guage clusters. Theyre like $15 and it was actually a bolt-up sorta deal! It actually includes all the adapters to fit our Patrols. Things you will need that the kit doesnt provide: Teflon tape, 14 guage wire, some wire ends, and some shrink wrap.

Some word of advice, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS... It really helps!

Oh yeah, and you will have to file out that firewall hole that your choke cable and a few wires goes through. The fitting on the temp sensor doesnt want to go through... Or if you are like me, you can just use a punch and hammer to kinda... make the fitting go through... LOL

If you want a pic of the guage pod, Im sure I can provide one for ya...

Oh, and I havent wired up the lights for that pod yet, but Im just gonna tap into the wire the stock cluster gets its power from.

I am looking at the bronc stuff now...did some checking on Autometer gauges and they look nice and adpatable but no room on dash unless under dash mount and I like my knee room. Could go center dash or top dash with pod and am thinking on it, still want to just drop a cluster in where the old one sits.

On different note...got the bucket seats in today and they fit killer! With the bottom stuff removed the Hyandia seats work great and look fine plus I think I have room for the console from the junker...oh yea baby cup holders! Big Grin Having a new exhaust and muffler put on it that wil be piped out the rear. Weber should be here any day also...the 3" lift kit just showed up in SLC and will go down to get it soon also. Should be quick and easy to drop in the lift other than maybe some custom shackles. At this point the suspsnsion is not only completely rebuilt (again) but lifted. Going to remove the front limiting rods so travel is not shiat. BTW, a guy on the NPCA site said my front suspension sucks! he said it so bad it not working...I dissagree and think the flex limit is due to old re-arched springs, long Rancho shocks and the limiting rods that are stock. It does travel to the limits of the stock set up by hitting bump stops compressed and limiting rods extended. What do you all think...is the flex screwed and not normal for stock??

I decided I just blew the head gasket the other day. Maybe it was weak or maybe the truck does not like wheeling on 3 wheels. Not sure but I am ordering a top end rebuild kit. Then I will send the truck to Idaho for top end rebuild and may get harden valve seats in. Weber will be put on at this time. While it over there I am going to have the PTO box and winch rebuilt with new bearings and seals. It has just got fresh cable on the winch and a nice end hook. When it comes back from Idaho I will get the custom front bumper made, winch will spool off the bottom with rollers mounted much lower in center of bumper. Bumper will be short and extend only a bit past frame rails. The winch mount will be redone as it sucks being the old dealer angle iron add on. Will have two large heavy duty mounts welded to end of frame rails for winching off. Oh yea gonna have the tank chopped down as it easiest and cheapest fix, will be back to small size but screw it. The skid plate will also be fixed and may have drain added. I will just carry 5gal jerry cans all the time.

then I am done with this truck and will try hard to sell it locally. Should be able to get a fair price and guess what I am doing with the sale money!? Importing a Patrol Razz and stocking up more parts for RMP&O...also will help pay for the H260 a guy locating for me in Oz now.

Well, glad you figured out what it was. I figured it was the headgasket myself. It all depends on where it blows as to what the effects will be...

Ive got pics of the aftermarket guage cluster. If you want the pics, I will send them through e-mail.

Did you find out where the tach hooks up to? I would love to have a tach on my Patrol...

Its alright, Ian. I got a tach on ebay for $6.50!!! Its not one of those real fancy ones, but thats dirt cheap, and its guaranteed to work.

Ill have to send the money off for it wednesday, by then my TJ mirrors should be here... Smile

Tell us how that lift kit fits, list the mods, and list the price too!

Excel bucket seats fitted, brackets are great as I can drop the old stock ones in very fast for the stocker look. New muffler and exhaust system, need one hanger still on for the muffler. New custom made high rise jack and tire iron carrier. The mount works well but the carrier had to be modded to use it, old lock arch cut off and then new longer lugs welded on. The longer lugs is better anyways as the stock short ones suck.

Not sure about the lift yet, the shocks will have to be modded or sent back as 6 of the 8 mounts are wrong. They look very awesome though and so do the leafs. Not sure how the leafs will fit either and won't know untill I check some more, right now they are shorter than stock. Quality stuff though for sure...price not sure as it not fitted to the truck yet but I sure do want to get it on. This 64 may go over to Idaho for awhile very soon as I want the PTO box and winch rebuilt with new bearings and seals, top end on motor rebuilt with new valves/lifter and stuff, the Weber fitted and tuned and this lift kit figured out. Hope it is not gone for 2 months! I got a lot of cash in this truck to be dropping more on it and then sell it but I should get a good price. it is nice, rides awesome, starts every time even with blown head gasket and shotty battery cables and a pos Rochester carb! Funny thing is a guy down the street from me recently bought a 1960's FJ45 SWB pickup and he paid $14k. It has a resto but is home job and not even close to show condition, they half-arsed a few things I saw in 15 minutes of looking at it. So I should be able to fetch a good price loacally as this is JH! Wink

Nice, man!

Can I see some pics of the seat mounts? Ive been thinking of ways to mount it on the passenger side as the drivers side would be quite easy. Also, does the console flip up with the passenger seat?

yea my friend said same thing about the seats and I agree otherwise they gonna get trashed fast. Plus need something to cover the hinge as it is ugly without the cover that broke. I will try and get some pics of the bottom of the seats and how they mount. SImple really, just cut off all the excess crap as no need to slide this seat and then put on box steel pieces that fit into the old seats mounts. Hinge it and make sure it good fit and paint it and done. Big Grin No console in yet as it is brown so think I will coat it in bedliner. May not even use it as there is a nice cubby hole between seats as is. Holds drinks, coat, dog no probs. You can see in the top pics a lot of the work I did recently, after wheeling few times it still looks new Wink

Sent ya an e-mail with the pics of the aftermarket gauge pod, and how I need measurements on the rear springs...

Send an e-mail back with the pics of the seat mounts. As I said, I can see how easy it would be to mount the driver side up, but that passenger side is gonna give me some trouble!
