He's been a very active member that has provided a lot of insight and some very useful and helpful information, and we will miss his input. Bawl

But, his Patrol is going to a very worthy home. Hopefully the new owner will pick up where jmcallis leaves off.

And, hopefully jmcallis might grace us with his presence once in a while.

RiverPatrol,

I appreciate the kind words, but really. Do you think I'll not get another nissan? I still plan on importing a newer Diesel Patrol.

Not to mention I have never been able to pass up on the sweet old hardbodys. By the way, I would love to pick up the SE-V6 Hardbody regular cab 5spd. Just like my old one that rusted away back east. When your firewall falls apart from rust and your brake booster falls off the truck it is time to junk it. Frown

Take it easy and DR can't wait to see you solid axle truck on the Run.

Well sorry to see the patrol go. Greg aka (Dogwater) is also selling his 69 Patrol he can't really afford to put a engine into it. He has plans for further modifying his 85 4 runner.
Just FYI Jmcallis if you looking for inexpensive Patrol to modify again since I thought you are moving back east.

He's in Vermont. I think he wants $750 for his patrol as it is.

His website is www.dogwater.net you can see pics of his patrol there.

Thank you! We're quite proud of him. He was at the National Z Convention last June: Mr. K even signed his scrap book!

Even with the Internet, it's still dark times trying to find parts for these things. The Internet certainly helps, though!

I'm a purist when it comes to the vintage stuff,so retrofitting it was never an option.I ran into another Nissan Nut who had a Z,one thing led to another, and we swapped vehicles. It was the best thing to do at the time given my limited knowledge of Patrols.Every thing I have learned since then leads me to believe that he got the better end of the deal.It didn't have any of the customary rust,it ran great, and it had enough torque to pull a house off of its foundation. What was I thinking?

P.S.Admiral Togo is my new screensaver.

ROTFLMAO!!! smiley47

I could supply you with more screensavers, but most of them won't be as shiny!

I think you're right about which end of the deal you were on. While I have been a Z enthusiast myself, I'll stick to Patrols now. Granted, they're easier to work on, less parts involved, but it's the challenge of putting one back on the road without having to improvise that keeps me going.

I'm a purist as well. You have to have lots of room, because to restore one Patrol you'll have to buy a couple more for parts. And it always seems that you have to buy them in pairs: one rebuildable one and one for parts. Hence, I'm up to 9 Patrols now. But when the 4 projects are done, they will be as original as possible. There are some things that just can't be had, and it's either retrofit or go without. But some things you can't go without, like mirrors and bumpers, so improvising is necessary. I don't have to have lockers and SOA and power steering and disc brakes, the stock stuff works just great.

And, I haven't actually pulled a house with one, but I have moved a 24 x 16 shed with one!

So, I'm doing my part to stop Suburbanization.

I hope you're laughing with me,not at me smiley4.I turned 40 this year and my taste in vehicles has been somewhat altered. When I was 20,it was all about SCCA and autocross. Now I'm looking forward to AZ Run VI.I've always had Z's and I usually always had a 4x4 Datsun or Nissan.I've noticed that I drive my truck 95% of the time, instead of 5% like I used to.I still love my Z cars, but I've had a ball restoring older Datsun and Nissan trucks since they are for the most part easier to work on.And that is why I can appreciate a perfect speciman like your Patrol.I like to trick out newer stuff, but we need trucks like yours to show where Nissan came from.

Keep up the good work Chug
