Does anyone know of any Patrol's that I can pick up for under $2k and put some elbow grease in? With a baby coming, the X can take over protecting my family and I can build a romping rig with the Patrol. (would rather have Nissan than a stinkin jeep!)

The other option since I've modified the X so heavily is to get a family car and just put lockers in the back and LSD in the front and it'll be done as a trail rig.

Thanks for any help.

I heard of one sitting out in the back lot of a car dealer on Scottsdale road. Can't remember what dealer I was told, but its been abandoned and apparently has been sitting for at least 10 years.

They pop up every now and then for sale.. best to find one while you still can. They are getting extremely rare now.

Hey,

My 1969 Patrol is going up for sale for $3,000. (because I owe uncle sam too much $) I know that you wanted <2K but just a thought.

It has DR's old tires 32" runs great, but it has a 1 bbl rochester carb. 4wd works awesome, 3spd, new clutch, 105 amp alt. New 20 gallon gas tank, electric fuel pump, new wiring with modern fuse box, 280zx electrinoc ignition. Full gauges, all new fluids, custom full roll bar (from driver's feet to back of the tub). Solid body (AZ truck all the way with no rust) A bunch or extra parts, too. Spare doors, custom safari top (as seen in sig pic) plus you can see it with a huge hard top too at http://nissan4wheelers.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=227600023&f=199605494&m=3046082884

Also, I have a spare starter, water pump, 2 locking hubs, and a bunch of odds and end components.

The hard top does not have windows in two sides. But you can get new windows (or plexi-glass for cheap in PHX)

email me at jasondmcallister@hotmail.com or call me at 928-523-4774 for more information. The Patrol is in Flagstaff, AZ.

There's a '63 ragtop on Ebay - sounds like it needs a lot of elbow grease.

How much elbow grease are you willing to sacrifice?

The 63 on e-bay belongs to a guy named Mike. I have the windshield from that truck. I have the PTO winch and box from a 67 he has that is wrecked also. I visited the guy in 2002 over x-mas. The 63 he lists on ebay is missing floor pans and seat frame, they were made out of 1/2" ply wood years ago. The motor unfortunately was tossed out years ago before Mike owned it because nobody knew what it went to...the truck was hiding 20 yards away buried in blackberry bushes. It is also missing all the soft top frame. The guy Mike didn't even know he had a soft top Patrol until I educated him! Wink

I crawled around under and over the truck for 2 hours or more. It originally was yellow, this was the stock paint and yellow in 63 was very rare...yellow on any USA Patrol in stock form is very rare.

Since it is missing the motor you could buy an adaptor for it to fit a domestic motor, here is a link to a site that still makes adaptors for the stock tranny. Yes that is right...everyone in the USA thinks you can't get adaptors anymore since Marks4wd quit making them but I know better....I have many rabbits in my hat of tricks! Wink

OZ 60 series adaptors

Visit the forum on my website at www.rmp-o.com for a story on this very 63 rag top Patrol. The tub is very very restorable with next to no rust. The dash is also solid with nearly no rust and very few cut in holes. The frame looked super good. I took some suspension rubber bump stops off it and few other misc parts. it is basically complete other than windshield, s/t frame, motor and few small parts. The front fenders looked real solid too with next to no dents. I have or can get you everything to rebuild that truck including new seat frame and floor pans...plus I have 4 windshiled frames sitting in the shop in good condition. Sorry but the windshiled frame from the 63 is mine! Using it on my 64 rag top! The 63 would make a very good project and for $500 you could take home the wrecked 67 too that has some good parts. The guy also told me few months after my visit he found another Patrol close to his home...in good shape. So it would be worth your time to call or email him. He has an ad on NPCA sit also in the patrols for sale with no pics section. Tell him Ian sent you...! Wink

Once again..sorry jason not trying to foul up your sale but this is a godd truck worth saving and dirt cheap.

Ian,
I looked at that site. Lots of possibilities there. I'm sure everyone else is wondering the same as me. If you can adapt an engine to our 3spd why can't an adapter be made to swap out our trannies? Say with a hardbody 5spd or TLC 4spd or 5spd(sorry I had to use the TLC thing)(I prefer Nissan) I realize the biggest factor is the offcenter pumpkins & the length of the tranny. But TLC had offset as well. Or adapt a hardbody 5spd to our transfer. I know it is alot more complicated than that, but the right people could do it. I guess the problem is maybe not enough demand for it.
Just rambling on in my head about the possibilities.

Yeah Jon,

I agree. I hate to see the Patrol go too. And a good home would be great. I would rather sell my wife's new Jetta but I know a divorce is much more expensive Wink

I'm also driving my mint 74 hippie VW van to Portland Maine in 2 weeks. If I net enough on that sale anything is possible.

Jason, I don't know if you've left yet but if you're coming through VT and have time, let me know. Wink
I seem to remember seeing that Patrol (on Pirate) for sale before. Not much "Patrol" left but a cool rig...

It has come to my attention that I have TOO many Patrols. The city I live in brought this to my attention (can't stand them). Anyways, I
am selling 3 of my Patrols due to this. Photos of these 3 Patrols can be provided upon request. All Patrols located in Colorado.
1964 is in Durango area and other 2 are in the Denver area.
Contact Jeff at 303-806-0648 or at subaruguru2003@yahoo.com with any
further questions.

There is a 1964 hardtop with original drivetrain and engine. Seats
have been changed to buckets and rear bench seat. Includes front tow bar and mag wheels. Very little rust for a Patrol. Has not been
driven in about 5 years. Will require gas tank and carb to be cleaned to run well. Needs muffler replaced (includes extra to bolt on).
Includes engine handcrank to be used as novelty item.
$1,500 firm.

2nd is a 1967 hardtop that has not run in 20+/- years. It has a Chevy 327" V-8 engine. Includes original seats that need re-upholstered. Rear axle recently replaced with FJ-40 axle due to
too much torque breaking rear axle 20 years ago (that is why it was parked). Engine turns easily by hand. Body is nearly rust free with
only one minor dent. $2,000 firm.

3rd is a 1969 hardtop with an original documented dealer installed PTO winch. The winch works wonderfully. This Patrol has not been registered in 16 years. I am the documented 2nd registered owner.
Includes overload coils on the shocks, Warn hubs, original seats that are all
in usable condition, doors with front door panels in excellent shape, 5 original wheels, original engine and drivetrain. I just
replaced the carb with a rebuilt carb today and put in a new fuel filter, new rubber fuel lines and aftermarket electric fuel pump. It also received new plugs, new antifreeze, oil change and compression test. The compression is still well within a reasonable range. Starts and runs well but will need a tune-up and minor work to be road worthy and to pass an emissions test. Will also need brake master cylinder rebuilt prior to driving. It works now but brakes are "spongy". I can complete this procedure prior to selling if desired. It is an easy procedure. Large dent in rear of tub but another 1969 tub is included to complete a restoration. Typical Patrol rust. Includes engine handcrank as a novelty item. $2,500 OBO

Hey Jeepish, I'll be in Denver is 2 weeks for a weding. Will you be around? I'm going to the Rockies game on Sat (to share a bit of my schedule). I was wondering if you have some additional parts around? Plus, I would love to see the other patrols. Sorry, I don't have the money to buy a whole one. That 327 sounds interesting Wink Is is using the original 3spd or did they upgrade that too? If so, what happened to to the transfer case (off set axles).
