Well the old Datz Patrol should be ready for AZ Run. I'll working hard to get the Super Pat ready to go.

Safety first: It is going in to the shop for a custom roll cage in 2 weeks. I would rather be safe than sorry. Pics will be posted. I have a guy doing it in Flagstaff for about $800. It will be mounted directly to the frame. I'll be going with 4 point seat belts too. So if I roll it I have a good chance my co-pilot and I will end up alive and well.

I scored a NEW jeep Rubicon soft top and frame (right out of the plastic from a friend for only $125) that I will modify to fit. I was present on AZ III and recall the psyco rain.

I have started lifting so I'll be able to turn the steering wheel (no power steering yet ). If any AZ local is crafty and custom power steering units, contact me. I would love to go with the hydrolic steering systems but I don't weld yet, and if I could I wouldn't trust myself to do it correctly.

New altinator, more powerful battery added.

I will need a CB, a few anchor points welded in, and windshield wipers would be nice.

I can think of no better place to have my birthday than exploring the AZ Outback with the Swanky crew!

Coincidentally, I ran into another Patrol guy at the Pavillions Saturday night. He knew of you and your new patrol, so I guess word gets around.

I should have the mog ready for the AZ run as well. Looking forward to taking it for a few days or mabye half the week.

Cool Datz, I can't wait to see the Mighty Mog live. I will be on the AZ run for the first 3-4 days.

About the other Patrol guy near you. There is one other guy that mentioned to me that he wants to hit the AZ run with his Patrol too. He lives in PHX area too.

By the way, which section of the AZ run is going to be the most rugged? The first or second half of the week? All I know is that Patrol does not do to well on gas. I think I'll have to bring 10-15 gallons extra.

there will be a gas station on the highway 188( no more then 20 miles from base camp), but it's prices are a little high. about 50% higher then normal. best thing to do is bring more gas cans. as for which is worst: first or last depends on what group you go in.

I haven't finalized the itinerary yet. I've got some trail gaps to fill. The trail we ran Sunday will likely be moved to be the day 1 trail.

I'll probably split the group on days 2 and 3 and Log Corral will be one of the trails. That one is pretty gnarly.

Still have much prerunning to do. Sounds like Mud Springs is being thrown out in favor of more single-day friendly trails.

There will be challenges in those first days tho.

Sounds awesome. But now just beacuse I'm installing a roll bar doesn't mean I want to test it, ha! I getting so fired up for this run, I can't wait!

To bad my MQ Patrol won't be ready for a long road trip and a week of off-roading. I picked up a front ARB locker and a PTO winch but that is not enough to do the trip. The SD33 needs a lot of work before I trust it on a long trip like this....not to mention I would need the 5spd in.

Have fun...I want to see lot's of pictures of that Patrol tearing it up Jason!

What about my wipers? Do you have a lead for me. I new it was you at the pavillions. My current roll cage is why they were yanked. I think I'm going to have to get ugly on these. I once heard about some guy using old Jeep ones. I imagine I can just buy some hot rod set and drill a hole in the bottom of the window frame. I at least need a driver's side.

Ya but with the current state of the SD33 you all would stay 5 car lengths away from me at all times. The amount of black smoke she spews when you have to gun it up and over an obsticle is rather large. Just giving it some diesel to get up to speed on the hwy and she blows clouds like a 1960s Mack truck!

About the wiper motors....did you check online for some generic ones. Perhaps something made for boats?

Jason.. let me look through the shed. I'm wondering if I missed the wiper motors when packing everything up. I seem to remember having some wiper related parts for the patrol. Give me a couple days and lemme see what I can find.

67L60.. I'll look and see if there are any other parts. I may have some misc nuts and bolts and whatnot laying around. I gave everything I could find to Jason though.

Jason, are you living in Laurel, MD still or did you move to AZ?

I'm in College Park now if you are still around and need help with the truck.

I get really bored on weeknights since my truck/tools are 50min away.
