I called up an old grampie North of Flagstaff and he has 3 Patrols. One he wants to get running again, and 2 for parts. Since I offered to help him get his 64 Patrol back running again, he is going to let me take some parts! Smile

He has a broken piece plastic in the distributor which one screws down the points. Does anyone have this part (FUDD) or at least know what he is talking about?

My goal is to get this guys truck up and running so that he will really turn loose the parts to all of us.

He has complete powertrains still. Also, he and I will look further into the HEI ignition solution. He believes that he has several of those HEI distributors in his back yard (used to be a junkyard).

Keep posted for updates

Yeah, baby YEAH!

Hey Jason.. the guy that built my patrol says he has a complete front axle that came off it.. hes selling it for $50. Know anyone that might want it?

Sweet deal w/ the parts trucks! Help that guy out and see what you can get from the parts trucks.

For the less than 10,000 of those things that were imported to the US 34+ years ago, you're sure finding a lot of them!

Actually, around 2000 of them were ever imported, so they are really pretty rare.

Well, DR when your current truck isn't running you find a lot of time to search for the parts you need. Plus, isn't the fun all in the hunt.

hehe...yea it is fun, the hunt and all...especially when it turns up results!!

I am not sure what you are talking about in his distro...?? three diffrent distro's were sold on USA Patrols, the water protect is the most comman and then comes a non-water protect with a clip on cap...the third type I have never seen. I think I have at least one spare distro that is used...if it would help. I also have exploided views in the books of all disto's...so I could scan and send? I have a brand new distro I got from Japan but won't part with it, I could supply the part number for it and where you could probily buy it from....it is a non-water protect.

Let me know....

BTW...since you now have access to what sounds like a junk yard and are intrested in modifying your Patrol a bit...have you thought about disc brakes!? If you have...check an old thing (under mods i think) on the NPCA site for a disc brake conversion, he used parts from the junk yard! He also said it came out very nice....

Fudd,

I infact have already looked into the dick brakes kit. All I need to find is the cadi brakes system. I need to go look at his dist. before I can be sure what part he broke exactly. Then I might have to take you up on the used dist.

I will likely drop by the guys place on Monday if he will be home.

Sorry about that. Now that you mention it I believe DISC brekes might be more effective. Smile
