I am planning to go by a guy's house and check it out, and probably make him an offer, pay, and drag it home. I am looking for something to drive while doing the SAS on my Reg Cab...

Whoa.. nice! Smile

Then once the SAS is done on your truck, you can restore the Patrol. Smile

I don't know if I want to do a restore project. I would prefer a buildup. I primarily plan to use this as the workhorse on the ranch (small ranch, no need for fullsize) then eventually retire it to weekend use for camping/fishing/wheeling...

Heck, it only has 20K miles on a rebuilt original engine.. I still need to break it in.

What kind of condition is it in? Would hate to see a pristine Patrol get cut up since they're so rare....but if it's already a little beaten, then that's not so bad.

I haven't seen it yet, that's why I am waiting to close the deal until I can touch it...

If it is in good condition, I would consider a restore, but I doubt it considering the price he is asking. I plan on keeping it somewhat original anyway, besides a spring-over conversion and some engine mods. I am a BIG fan of the older nissan I-6 motors, so that will definitely stay, and I really like the 2.26:1 t-case.
Don't worry, Andy, I'm not planning on tearing the thing up, but I do plan on USING it like it was meant.

Hey Joey, sorry to hear it didn't work out for you. Fear not you will find another one down the road. Hey I'm with you for as I like to say, "if you are not too proud then you are not proud enough."

Someday, I'm sure.

I will have my hands full with my SAS for a while though, especially since I can't lift more than 10 lbs (Dr's orders)

He wants $800, which sounded great at first, but the engine smokes like crazy (not just a fouled plug problem, most definitely head trouble, if not total rebuild) no heater/defroster. But basically it's a body and axles for that price, which is not bad if that's what you want, but parts for these are darn near impossible to find. Anyway, I couldn't see sinking $800 into it, knowing that I will triple that while making it road-worthy.
