I've always wanted to go, but I dont think i'll be able to make it this year.

BTW, I keep seeing a red Patrol here in Mesa, AZ that looks to be as nice as Admiral Togo!! The guy drives it daily!

Cool! Flag him down some day and talk to him.

I've already talked a Patrol owner in OR to come to Shasta, and he's trying to talk a buddy into going as well. I'm taking 2 Patrols myself - Adm. Togo and the new soft top. I think they might see more Patrols at Shasta this year than all the years combined! Eyes

Patrols invade Mt. Shasta All Datsun Meet!

The trailer queens - in style.

A 510 hitched a ride, too!

It was just too cool seeing other Patrols in my rear view mirror!

It's the annual All Datsun Meet at Mt. Shasta, CA. It's put on by NorCal UFO - a 510 club. Info - http://dimequarterly.tierranet.com/ It's a fun event - mostly racing events for the 510s, Zs, and Roadsters but a lot of socializing with other Datsun lovers. Didn't get any more pics of the 2000, but I'm sure there are plenty on the Net somewhere.

I knew Dick. Did some work on my old 240Z. Left his tools in the engine. Not impressed. Nice enough guy though.

He did the high performance head on my 510.. It ended up with the wrong valve springs, wiped 2 cams, and filled the engine with metal shavings. pulled it off when I junked the stock engine and sold it for $75.

Hes a nice and knowledgeable guy, but after that and some other deals gone wrong with him I wont deal with him anymore.

lol, I didn't sya he knew what he was doing lol He is a nice guy though. I'd bought an Offenhauser manifold off of him years ago for one of mine. He had like 4 or 5 parts cars lying around in his backyard at the time. I wonder if he ever got any of them going..

Yep, he's a nice guy, but he does have is 'accidental' moments. He built most of the engine in my 510. I recently purchased a 5-speed from him. It was bad, then he gave me the one he was going to put in his 510. Well, turns out both were bad. He will refund my money, but it's just the hassle of doing a tranny swap. Not that bad for the 510, but still not the most desirable project. I was going to get one of them rebuilt, but got a good used one from Arizona Z Car.

John (Datz510), he finally found out what was wrong, but a little too late. We will find out in a month or two if he really did find the fix for the cam problem. I think that is the same one he put in Rich's head, which is your old one.

I'll still do business with him. But, like everywhere else, do it with caution.

Enjoy the ride,
Ben
