How to do it??
Well you can make your own so to speak by adapting a variety of things from the junk yard. On the NPCA site is info about how a member did his using a Caddy MC and so forth. I do not like this idea much as I am not good at fabbing and not many junk yards any where close to me. To di it that way seems you need a J/Y close by so you can go back a bunch. I suppose once you do it you can copy it for other trucks, I have several rigs and may want to do it for each. What is the other way? Well, from what I understand the K160 or MK/MQ Patrols have nearly the same front end. On the outer half any ways it is very similar. All you have to do is take the knuckle flange off the MQ with the axles and bolt it on the old Patrol. You now have disc brakes complete. I am not sure if you just use the outer axle to tracta joint or the whole thing. Yet, it should be cheap to buy from J/Y in Oz. When it is 5pm-11pm here it is great time to call them as it is middle of the day. Do search on google for junk yards in Oz, better do search for G60 or MQ/MK in junkyards and it wil turn up several that sepcialized in 4x4's. Shipping probaly cost more than the parts, I would be into sharing a package.... 64 L60 "ragtop" Patrol -currently under going full frame off restoration 64 KL60 Patrol "Hogan" -67 145 HP engine -Koenig stock PTO winch -7.50x16 Michelin XZL's -Dobinsons 3" HD lift -Rancho 5000's -Weber 2 barrel carb 66 KL60 Patrol "Admiral Togo" -40K original miles -245-75R15 Cooper Discoverers on stock 15" split rims & caps |

Here is what early Broncos do about a booster...
The way I see it, we Patrol owners can learn alot from owners of similar rigs... "TSUNAMI" 1969 Nissan Patrol Mods getting too numerous to list! 79,000 Original Miles! FJ-40 Rear Axle My All New Website! |

Me too! I say if 3 or 4 of us are ready to do this we all need to decide on some specs and do it. I'm sure we could benefit from fabrication costs if we had 4 or 5 disc brake kits made up. I would think that John and I would have the best chance at Junk yards, too. Unless there are some big ones in OK.

I just need the booster adapter deal. Disc brakes arent an issue here, since they are readily available for the D44.

I dont think it would be too bad... the proper sized pipe with flanges welded on the ends, a piece of all-thread, and a couple of odds & ends parts...
Oh yeah, and Jason... Does your Patrol stop with just one pump of the brake pedal, or does it take a few times to build up pressure? "TSUNAMI" 1969 Nissan Patrol Mods getting too numerous to list! 79,000 Original Miles! FJ-40 Rear Axle My All New Website! |

mine stops on one and I can lock them up however the passanger side rear isn't hooked up so I also change lanes when I hit the brakes (can you say a slight pull to the left)
I also drove it this way for 75 miles when I bought it |

oh hell yes, mechanically its pretty sound, the engine only has 15,000.
I know its not pretty but I thought it would live up to Okie standards. |

Well, the only pic I saw was it in a dark garage, with the hood open, tools laying all around.
Then you talked about the SD33T engine swap... Was there another pic of it outside of the garage I missed? Im really glad it runs, though... it looks better than mine does... "TSUNAMI" 1969 Nissan Patrol Mods getting too numerous to list! 79,000 Original Miles! FJ-40 Rear Axle My All New Website! |

my brakes are completly rebuilt guys. I tap them and stop. I can lock them up if I want, they hold me with little pressure on very steep grades, my pedal is far from ever touching the floor and I never pump them unless it is on ice. I can be doing 45mph and stomp on them and stop in 25 feet! It is true...everything in them is rebuilt with new parts. It pays to invest in your rig
