I saw that guy stating he gets 34 mpg out of the 4.2. Thats a crock surely ? By the way, he wants £5500 ( stirling ) for it. I emailed him. And how would he know what the MPG was? He looks like a dealer to me, he dont drive em, he sells em

5500 UKP seems like a screaming deal to me....yea it is like $7000usd but the 4.2 truck looks very sweet. SWB with the 4.2TD...simply awesome. Who cares what kinda milage it gets....the trucks rocks! I know I know, fuel costs big bucks over there but a diesel and SWB should get way better milage than a 2.8 in an LWB. I am sure it has much more get up and go also as the 2.8L is bit small fora LWB Patrol IMO...the LWB must be at least 5000lbs. I would trade anyone of my P-trolls for it in a heart beat...to bad it is not USA legal 64 L60 "ragtop" Patrol -currently under going full frame off restoration 64 KL60 Patrol "Hogan" -67 145 HP engine -Koenig stock PTO winch -7.50x16 Michelin XZL's -Dobinsons 3" HD lift -Rancho 5000's -Weber 2 barrel carb 66 KL60 Patrol "Admiral Togo" -40K original miles -245-75R15 Cooper Discoverers on stock 15" split rims & caps

Back to the topic. Go and have a look at it. Especially the frame where the rear leaf shackles are mounted! If the rust is ok, go get it ! I had the L28 in my old ('82) K160. This thing is immortal. I have the 260 LWB right now with the 2.8 Turbo Diesel (RD28T) and had to get a new cylinder head last week at 160k mls. The L28 LWB also has the divorced t-case which makes it a little easier to get an auto tranny fitted. Finding an auto tranny will be close to impossible though, it was never an option in the older Patrols. BART's world '91 Patrol 2.8 Turbo Diesel LWB Life starts where the road ends!
