Anybody knows where to order a manual similar to Haynes for the Y61 Patrols with a 4800 vtc engine (I already got the workshop service manual which Nissan mechanics use). I can't find any anywhere till now, any of you have an idea ?

Thanks

Why would you need anything else- when you have the factory service manual?

TRy Haynes.com and email them.

in my servie manual ( i got supplements 1 - 5 i think, it covers the engine and everything else as well ) but its really not easy to understand, actually its all pics, i mean i can understand what goes where and how but then again you need to do a lot of studying them to actually get somewhere with them ... Frown
Thats why I was wondering if anyone got any idea on other manuals that could be handy ?

Nope not a V8. Its an inline 6 cylinder twin cam 4800. The code is TB48. Very powerful engine and got enough torque to move a tank.
See the thing is that they don't have the engine in states but have it everywhere else in the world. But what is weird is that they have a stroker kit for it in the states (Brian Crower) which strokes it 5150cc... so if they could make a stroker for it in states why the hell couldn't they make a damn manual ? Frown
And in Australia they use mostly diesels so they have the diesel manuals for the diesel engines but not for the tb48 Frown

tb48 i-6 right on well i keep my eyes open for one there are very few nissans in the states that run the i 6 4.0 the early patrol being the only one i know of , the z cars have the 2.8 i-6
and thats were they stop. i wish they sold more of them here and i understand you frustration
try finding 40 year old parts its not easy

looking at the pic in ur (link / sig) i understand what you mean about 40 year old parts I guess Frown
my frustration is because no1 here can actually do a good job on the car. The dealerships ... they are only good for oil change and keeping warranty and sometimes, only sometimes "replacement" might actually go well. Other places do a very crappy job so its hard finding a decent place here.
Thats why I thought of doing the work myself, but lol even that is impossible because the engine and the gearbox aren't that simple to put apart and rebuild, and I mean rebuild well Frown and even if I would be able to without the manual it would probably take me 4 - 5 times longer then with the manual.

well i can totally relate ,to that!!!
try asking a dealer about a patrol in the states. and you get the dumb look and they say never heard of it. are there many old patrols there ?? pre 1980 i seen youre pics of the desert raceing , with the LS1 patrols.very cool
butt the old stuff is really hard to come by and you could make some extra cash easily with these parts on ebay heck most of us are shipping parts from australia now

there are a decent amount of old patrols but mostly 89 - 97. People here buy new ones every year so the old one get shipped out to other countries. However there are enough parts for the older models here since business on modding them is high here so they need the parts.
That manual is the workshop manual, I have that already thanks.
