What are 4 or 5 places that a group could wheel for a few days? A few guys I know would love to do a trip for a week and I was thinking Texas. I've heard that the beaches are nice for a day ride and I've also heard of a few ORV parks. So maybe you Texans can help me ou with some links and locations to bring a group. This will most likely not happen until 08 but if it is to happen planning has to start early.

Come out to TX and Ill show You around.

Barnwell AKA Gilmer is the most popular place in North Texas. Lots of various trails 2-5.

Katemcy (Granite rock) is another great place. I have yet to make it there though.

We did a beach run in San Padre island. There is 63 miles of beach. Its pretty nasty.

Here is a video of the beach.

Yeah, I thought a little more effort could have been put into the article. I was a little ticked that they did not mention it was a Nissan in article and even more so when I found out they thought I had no chance of making the bog and took a break while we did make it through. I did get some decent coverage on the DVD but I ended up looking like a tard. oh well.

Anyway, enough about me, The 3 links/places you posted are the ones I was thinking of. 60 miles of sandy beach sounds cool, but I have to ask if there is high ground during high tide? Also which of these places allow camping? I'd like about one more place, but since most of us would be bringing our significant others we can always fill the week in with doing something for them. If this happens there is a great chance that we will have more than 10 rigs coming. We also have to plan it around school vacations and stuff. Thanks for your help I will keep you in the loop.

There is high ground. but your not allowed to camp on the grasslands. But You could rive on it I guess if you had to. There is other beaches also. Mustang island.

Those 3 places all have camping.

$20-35 a day, varies
BMRA: Full camping hookups or tent spaces. Showers, porta pottys through out the property etc. 8 miles from town. Groceries hospital, auto parts etc.

$50 a day
Katemcy. Just tent spaces. No porta potties or water. VERY primitive. 30-40 miles from town.

$10 a day.
Beach. Tent sites right on the beach. Showers and bathrooms 10 miles from camp. Kinda primitive. About 10-20 miles from town stuff.

Let me know what You decide. I would like to meet you guys.

It would be nice to meet you guys as well. Plus some of us could use it as a training ride before we head twice as far to AZ. Our group would be pretty mixed. The Miami Crawlers have expressed interest and the guys around me who have inquired own jeeps. Got any links to threads about your members past trips to any of these places.

Inferentially due to my job I can only run on the weekends. Sorry to say as much as I would like to plan a week long run I can not include myself.

The big problem is most of our parks are only open on weekends. So you couldnt really do a week long run.
