There are a good bit of people on Titan Talk that are swapping the e-locker for the Tru Trac...all I have to say is... IDIOTS... The e-locker is sooo sweet, especially when you re-program the comp to allow it to lock in 2wd, Hi, or Low... Cool

IF you have a stock locker why would you install an LSD?

The ONLY time, I mean...ONLY time...you'd EVER do something like that is for strictly all STREET purposes. No wheeling intended whatsoever. Whether it's Street use or at the Track, most prefer an LSD to a locker. NOT for WHEELING though!!!! Big Grin Later....

Oh Yeah...and Who cares???? This could be REALLY good for Nissan owners that might happen to break a rear-end (highly unlikely) in the future, and then you could possibly get the newer model D44 style rear-end w/ locker off of some dildo for coupla hundred bucks! Maybe this isn't a bad thing, eh??!?!!?!? Later....

I would highly recommend not using any kind of locker in that axle, they're weak enough as is. If mine goes again when it's out of warranty, I'm slinging a damn 9" ford under that bastard.

I have to agree this is stupid. replace a LSD/ locker with a LSD only. What or they thinking. plus the LSD from Detroit said it is for "Titan Without Electric Locker" so it won't fit anyways.

Stock locker is more than fine...made by Eaton, I believe...I engage mine at least once a week, never any problem. Quite nice really. And the rear axle is fine. Really just the '04's had a problem, and it wasn't the axle itself, it was the ring gear...

And mountain goat: It'll work if you buy a new carrier...

I'm still not confident in mine...we'll see, maybe it will hold up. On a side note, can you put dana 44 gears in these? I've never had a straight answer.

The titan has a dana 44 rear end right? It would only make since to me that dana 44 gears would fit in a dana 44 rear end.

well....it's a "hybrid" dana 44..what hybrid means, I don't know...that's why I've wondered. I wanted to get new gearing when they put my new axle in, but they said since it didn't come with those gears, they wouldn't warranty the axle, even though it was nissan's. After the first blew up, I wasn't going to do anything to void the warranty. After it's out of warranty, I'll either regear it if it's held up, or sling a 9" under it.

Nissan did something to the carriers/housing to make it a nissan only thing, so D44 stuff doesn't fit it. now the gears may but if nissan did all that to the case I bet the did something so only there gears match up.

Whats the point in nissan using a dana 44 axle housing if all the guts are nissan's? Should have just stayed with their own legendry axles. maybe a H266, something bigger.

No stock d44 stuff wont work. Nissans rear end d44 is not a "hybrid"...the d44 front end on 4x4 models is though. Nissans rear d44 is bigger than other d44's... Its 32 spline and has a 12 bolt cover... I like my rear axle, but I would have been happier with the h260, or even the 33 spline 233b... Smokin
