I've seen A-Rod's truck in auction. Really impressive for a 100% stock truck.

why wouldn't I wheel it. Its a Nissan, with a locker, lsd, 33's, and over 300 hp. and the axles are plenty stout enough for 35's or less, they're 32 spline, and they have a bigger ring gear, too (12 bolt cover) not like the original 30 spline d44 (10 bolt cover) and yeah Mike, I do want to go that route 2005 Nissan Titan 4X4 with some mods... |

I keep forgetting that our terrain is different than most.
Little shelf roads on high. Stuff like that. I doubt a truck that big ( I own one) would make it on most of our trials. But by all means go head on wit your bad self!! Meh. |

Most of my truck will make it on your trails, but the body might not... ha ha ha... I do need a trail rig, though. Hopefully getting a hardbody to sas very soon... 2005 Nissan Titan 4X4 with some mods... |

Just readin the lastest Truckin magazine. I only bought it because theres tons of Titan articles. Supercharger install, lowering kit, liftkit etc...
Well theres a 2wd Titan on 40s with stock drivetrain except the Genuine Gear 4.56 gears in the STOCK rear end. Theres tons of pix. The owner works for 4wheel parts in CA. I am not up to speed on Titan parts (Dont own one..yet Barry 93 D21 King Cab SE - 35s, SAS + stuff 92 Pathfinder SE - Auto SAS 3 link 04 Quest SE - stock, perfect!!! |

hmm...wish I could get my hand on a titan rear to see if it would work. I would like to give mine a little more gear for towing, although it does pretty damn well, this would ensure it would almost never kick out of overdrive.
2004 Titan-fairly stock, '89 Nissan sas swap in progress d60/9", 9", 5.43's/arb's, 38.5x16x15"tsls/beadlocks, winch/air, 3.3L |

Still useless, nothing for the front diff to match even if there's something for the stock rear.

surely they make gears for the front diff too... this is the first I've heard of gears though... hmmm, 4.56's would make the crawl ratio unbelievable...

The front diff is the M205, not D44-based in the first place. ----------------------------------- When did you last check your spare tire's pressure? |

Im not sure if it is or not d44. But Nissan claims its made by Dana. All there marketing literature states DANA axles front and rear.

It absolutely is a HP d44 centersection... I look at mine all the time, plus like NissanNut said, its in every piece of literature Nissan has printed for the Titan... 2005 Nissan Titan 4X4 with some mods... |

M205 is Nissan's designation. I thought the carrier, bearings, and pinion shaft were different from standard Dana axles though. ANY Dana 44 is too small for a Titan though, especially if wheeled or twoed hard! Peterson's confirmed that when they wiped out 2 of them on their test Titan! Put a Dana 60 or bigger in the rear and be done! I'd go Dana 80 if towing and using 37" load range E tires, and Dana 60 w/stock tires. Off-road would be Dana 70 or Dana 80.
