well I blew my front diff last weekend (about an 8" piece blew off the backside) so I had it towed to the Nissan dealership to have it fixed (as I still have 46,000 miles on my warranty) and they're telling me they've never seen or heard of anything like this, and won't warranty it... I'm also a member on the Titantalk forum and their have been dozens and dozens of people that have blown a front diff and it was covered by warranty... So I have to call NissanUSA and get an "inspector" here to determine if it was manuf. defect or if I did something to make it happen (which, i didn't... I was in about 6-7" of mud, pulling out a 4runner... no roots, stumps or rocks to bang it on or anyting... If they do not warranty this part, that SAS might be sooner than I had planned... Devil

Maybe you should start to gather the info and pictures of others who have blown up thier diffs. Then buy a vinyl cut sticker that reads: "Ask me about how crappy Nissan drivetrain is before you buy one" I am so tired of the way dealers are treating the customer after we buy a $20-40,000 truck. Give them hell man!!
Lator....

Outch. Nissan should take care of this for you. Sounds like the dealer is just being an ass. Can you try another Nissan dealer? Maybe the people are not so much of an asshole.

If it’s under warranty it’s not the dealers money, so what do they car. Nissan USA will pay the dealer for any warranty related maintenance they do.

Now if your talking about a dealers warranty and not a manufactures warranty. Tough luck there. Dealers warrantees are as good as the paper there written on.

I printed out 15 pages of people on TitanTalk that have had blown front diffs, all covered under warranty... They still said there was nothing he could do... and the dipsh*t service advisor didn't even know the front diffs were aluminum... how do you even have your job?!? This is crazy... I think once the inspector comes and looks at it, he'll see there's no possible way to "hit something" on the diff to make the entire ass-end of it blow out... not without damaging something else on the truck as well, its too well protected, its just not protected from itself...

If I only knew how to weld Welder...

Do tell which dealership this is, and where.

Your service advisor is a lazy POS.I called the service advisor at my favorite Nissan dealership and he said that he had heard of problems and that is absolutely a warranty issue. He asked if it was a Hendricks dealership or if the dealership had their own in-house warranty company. If they are paying for it,they will screw you as often as possible.

Also, some Service Advisors take it upon themselves to be the warranty police.I had an issue at Power Nissan in Tempe about 9 years ago.The SA gave me a hard time on a noisy clutch issue and was rolling his eyes and acting all put out.I came unglued, grabbed the sonofabitch by the throat and proceeded to lay down the law.2 days later,Nissan had a recall for my specific warranty claim.I still avoid that place when I'm in the Valley.

So,stick up for your rights. It's under warranty and they gladly took your money when they sold it to you,so they can goddamn good and well pay out, too. Chug

Good luck. Nissan USA sucks ass on warranty shit. My tranny line blew, they blamed it on a gauge I teed in the line creating "high line pressure" even though the i.d. was the same as the steel line. $5500 out of my pocket for a new tranny and a year later, guess what happened? No gauge installed since new tranny, and I blew two lines. I even had a lawyer involved and it got to the point I would have spent more money on a court case than the tranny. My rearend is clunking again...

umm that’s not chump change you've thrown into your titan. Sounds like a titan is not the way to go.

I haven't heard of very many tranny problems, although I don't doubt it... Everything on my truuck has been more than wonderful, except for the freaking axles...

My dad is thinking about selling his 2001 Chevy HD and I'm thinking about throwing the titan axle under it and taking his 14bolt... Devil

I've been thinking about doing exactly that, getting a 14 bolt semi float 6 lug and putting in mine. The abs stuff is on the disk brakes it appears with a quick look under the truck, so that should be easy enough to retain. The other half of me wants to let it shell and make nissan replace it with a new one just so it costs them money, then put the 14 bolt in.
