I bought myself the new 2008 Nissan Altima last night...

He's probably referring to the rear D44 not being up to the task of towing heavy loads with the power available.

I'm not saying there isn't a need for a d60 under my truck.. but I have put my truck through mortal hell on road and off, and the only time the rear axle has failed was when I was FULL throttle, going uphill, in sand, with the rear locker on....

The rearend leaves a lot to be desired. I shelled my first at 18,000 miles. I have 33,000 miles now and have noises again. It gets unbearably hot when towing a heavy load. Honestly, I'm hoping it blows up again under warranty. If so, I'll let them replace it, yank it out and sell it to some other poor chap that blew theirs out of warranty, and put either a 9" variant or a 14 bolt semi-float in. I need to take a closer look at where the ABS picks up before I do anything, though.

I think you'll love it; it was Stone that got me droolin' for one back in the day when he let me drive his. Mine has made the moab run and also to colorado springs with my junker YJ and tows like a dream.

i was in moab jeep wheeling this summer and it happened to be during GONE, i've never seen so many sas nissans in my life; at least 1/3 of them i think
