I've turned over 25,000 on my Titan. The brakes wear the rotors, had that fixed once and it's going back in Wednesday. I believe they have a fix now for it.

Other than that and the occasional TP from Jove and J, I love this truck. It's a monster. Very comfy for me too, I'm 6'4" 275.

Meh.

That's good you never had problems w/ your diff, Stone- i guess you checked the lube level already... I think it was just a short production problem that was remedied, already, I hope...

I've had a ton of problems with my Titan.

It keeps getting muddy when it rains in Maricopa. smiley48

And I keep finding dog hair in it too. smiley50

The fact that it takes $50 to fill up hurts. Red Face

I really hate how it smokes Fords and Chevys off the line. Devil

Other than that, it's easily the best vehicle I've ever owned. Funny though, I don't seem to have that TP problem you were talking about Stone. Big Grin

I reckon so....

Got 51900 on mine now, great truck I love it. Fast, roomy.

It's just a street truck, but for a big guy it fits me well.

I don't think they made the front rotors any bigger.

Was reading the 4wheeler magazine articles on one...they've killed two D44 rear ends towing. I think under normal use the D44 is fine, but throw a 7500lb trailer back there and it's definitely questionable.

So axle swap time already? Might as well go for the AA transfer case too while you're at it. Then you can tow a house. Literally.

this is an old post, but...
#1, brakes warped, replaced with much better brakes by dealer
#2 seatbelt recall, replaced them
#3 rearend started whining, dealer ordered one without me even bringing it in, they just threw the upgraded one in.

Davis Moore Nissan, in Wichita, Kansas. I personally talked to the manager and service manager before I bought the truck. Awesome service place.

That's some kick ass rare service @ a Dealer where their ultimate goal is to sell you everything they can(whether you need it or not).

My Titan problem is that I don't own one yet.

I had a tranny line start to go on me on a long trip a few weeks ago, got it held together enough to get home. There's a TSB out (at least for some) to replace the lines that I didn't get.

Just had to take the Titan in to the dealer for a fix.. not the common brake fix, or the ring-gear fix that everyone has been talking about... but a locker failure (made by eaton). I was pulling out a buddies 4runner a couple days ago, with the locker engaged. It wasn't a hard pull at all, but when I put it in 2wd to leave they're was this awful jarring feeling everytime I turned, and the inside tire on every turn was trying to grip... my locker was engaging/disengaging on its own. Not good. Opener the diff only to see a perfect ring and pinion, and about 75 pcs. of my spider gear chillin at the bottom of my diff... Frown. But my buds at the local Nissan lot aren't just gonna replace gears and locker, but the entire assembly, brakes and all. And will be ready in 3-4 days... not bad considering they have to order the axle. But, damn I'm gonna miss my nissan... smiley35

Yeah... my dad is talking about selling his 2500hd, and I asked him if before he does cound we switch axles, he said he didn't care.. woo-hoo...

oh, and when I pulled him out I was actually bragging about what an easy pull it was (truck is such a f-ing beast)... I was pulling uphill (only way to get him), and was at about 7 or 800 rpms... I'm thinking This has been a minor problem for a little while, and me, using my 4x4 almost everyday just expediated the process and that pull was the last straw... smiley44

oh well, drove the truck for about 30 miles after it happened (had to) and the guy at the dealership said he'd never seen anyone drive so much with so little spider gear left... That says a little something for that rearend... smiley16

D44's are more than enough axle for this truck with 35's or less, I guaren-damn-tee it... also, it was on the '04 Titan that the ring gear was sheared, Nissan "revamped" the rearend in '05...

except what happened to your rearend has nothing to do with what happened to mine... I have a 4x4 with the locker, and it was a wiring issue, the locker wouldn't disengage... the ring gear in the truck were flawless... so I stand by my original statement... its no tthe Titan, you just got a lemon, sorry dude, but its true... I've been bitching about brake problems since the rear axle went in, they keep bleeding, they kept sucking. A few weeks ago I got my oil changed and found out the rear axle seals (on the rearend that was changed 15,000 miles ago) were leaking and soaked the brakes. New seals, new brakes, and the thing actually stops now.

This thing is getting the boot before the 60k is up. If the 19 year old hardbody was done, I would feel more comfortable driving it long distances than the 3 year old Titan, and that's not right.

Oh, and the new axle has a hum to it, too.
