I just bought an 05 with 40,000 on it and love it.the tuner on the radio sucks an the tranny has some weird shift patterns and it LOVES gas,but its by far better than the chevys and ford I have owned.I an now a nonpracticing ford master tech and I can tell you that I used to do 10-20 ring n pinions on trucks and exploders every week.Nothing is going to be perfect but its alot closer than the other rattle traps.

Mine is a 04 XE w/off road package I bought it new. It now has 38k 6" lift&35"mud graplers went on at 30k. The radio has been replaced, the A/C control illumination had a weak connection, and the rear axle was replaced(never blew up but paint was peeling)now it has the updated axle. It has pulled a 10k trailer on ocassion(with ease),and it gets wheeled too. I love this truck wouldn't trade it for any other truck

Well, idler pulley was replaced. Now the ac clutch is going out.
I've had a thunk for a few weeks, it showed itself today: The entire exhaust system is rotted from the manifolds back. 4 years old, 39,000 miles. We had 20 year old chevy pickups with 200,000 miles on them and stock exhaust. It sounds like this is going to cost me around $800-$1000 to replace. Oh, and I found this while checking out the exhaust... Yeah, that's the second set of axle seals on the second axle, and they're bad AGAIN. They have around 8000 miles on them. 4 sets of axle seals in 39,000 miles. I wish this damn thing would burst into flames. I'm NEVER buying another Nissan again. I'll have over $7000 invested in fixing this thing now. The hardbody didn't take 1/4 of that in 200k miles. 2004 Titan-fairly stock, '89 Nissan sas swap in progress d60/9", 9", 5.43's/arb's, 38.5x16x15"tsls/beadlocks, winch/air, 3.3L |

exhaust:Not doubting your word, but that just looks like surface rust.. Did the hangar break off? brakes: I don't see calipers in the picture, so assuming drum brakes- wheel cyliders aren't leaking? Never been replaced? That's what it looks like to me, but then, I'm a few thousand miles away. Flushed new brake fluid ,ever, into the system? ..................... No, the hangar didn't break off, the pipe broke off the flange. I removed it from the hangar because the god damn thing jammed into the road and damn near went through the bottom of my bed. Every spot in the system that it was welded, it's rotten. The pipe is fine in between those spots. Poor quality control. Once again, Nissan told me to go screw myself, it's not their problem. Titans don't have drum brakes, they have disk brakes, and they don't magically bleed through the backing plate and up to where the axle bolts on. This is the third time they've failed, trust me, it's axle seals. A-rod, I hear you on the lemon. Dad's truck has been treating him well, other than a power steering leak they can't seem to fix for some reason. I wouldn't be half as pissed and sick of this damned truck if Nissan would stand behind their junky work and at least warranty it. After dropping $7,000 of my own money on what should have been warrantied that got denied, I'm frustrated and appalled at Nissan's customer service. 2004 Titan-fairly stock, '89 Nissan sas swap in progress d60/9", 9", 5.43's/arb's, 38.5x16x15"tsls/beadlocks, winch/air, 3.3L |

I've been all the way up the chain with Nissan, with a lawyer I hired. They flat out said "we'll see you in court".
At that point, I had a truck that was my only vehicle, with no transmission, and I couldn't get to work. It would have cost me more in legal fees for what most likely would have been me paying for it anyway. My money had to go to get a new transmission. $5000+ for that. They blamed it on a gauge I t'd in the system, saying it "caused high line pressure and blew the tranny line", even though the i.d. of the fittings I installed were the same i.d. as the steel tubing running from tranny to radiator. What a load of crap. Ironically, with a new transmission and new lines (that I paid for), I blew both new lines about 15,000 miles later AGAIN. I caught it quick enough that time, and did no damage. I got them "fixed" so I could get home since I was 600 miles away. When I took it in for that, I found out that there was a TSB out about...guess what...THE LINES HAD BEEN BLOWING!!! 2004 Titan-fairly stock, '89 Nissan sas swap in progress d60/9", 9", 5.43's/arb's, 38.5x16x15"tsls/beadlocks, winch/air, 3.3L |

So you never met w/ an arbitrator for your warranty claims? I belieev that's the process before resorting to filing complaint w/ FTC going to court- at least here in Cali it is. And per Magnuson-Moss , Nissan has to prove your mod caused the problem. Since they had a TSB going against them, and your mod's ID was same as ID of the tranny line it seems like a slam dunk in your favor. And you're entitled to recover legal fees when you prevail. It sounds to me like they bluffed, and you balked. Maybe it's not too late to rethink this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson-Moss_Warranty_Act ..................... ( my letter to NISSAN Corporate)> I have a question/comment a friend's LEMON titan that he bought from Davis Moore Nissan, in Wichita, Kansas: He thinks it's junk and has gotten little satisfaction under your warranty. Until i saw his problems w/ Nissan, I WAS thinking of gettting a new titan, as my 98 Frontier is getting "long in the tooth" as they say. His rearend( warranty covered)is leaking again, the exhaust fell off and he had to replace his transmission- on his own dime ($5000). Below is a TITAN COMPLAINT thread on Nissan 4Wheelers website- over 6000 members. I'll post your response( or lack of) to the thread when I get it( or don't get it). Your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated. His email is chevyman_57@hotmail.com Sincerely, William Evans ......................................... http://nissan4wheelers.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=227600023...10380641#49210380641 "I've been all the way up the chain with Nissan, with a lawyer I hired. $3,000 here. I wouldn't have any luck with small claims, anyway. I have no doubt Nissan would end up with "proof" that it was my fault. Yes, that's how shady they have been.
I've cut my losses and moved on. They lost 4 lifetime customers. My family will never own another Nissan, and that's about all we've had, other than farm vehicles. 2004 Titan-fairly stock, '89 Nissan sas swap in progress d60/9", 9", 5.43's/arb's, 38.5x16x15"tsls/beadlocks, winch/air, 3.3L |
