I had a pretty big tarantula crawl/flop out of my sleeping bag along the Colorado River, below the Hoover Dam, one fine morning. And more recently than that, at Woods Canyon Lake as I was deflating an air mattress I'd slept on, a fiddleback spider, (as big if not bigger than your sig-pic DR) crept out from underneath
