No doubt. I wouldn't either. DOn't trust builders to overbuild things/add hammer arrestors like they should.

The littlest thing( like a cheap plasticy supply line to a toilet vs
braided-stainless sheathed line) can wreck everything. Happened to my folks- a toilet supply line -while they were on vacation a few years back. It soaked most of the second floor carpet/ wood floors. Had to rip it all out-
carpet and pad- bring in fans, spray enzyme everywhere for mold.

The project is finally finished! It took 6 weeks start to finish. My daughter is coming to visit next week so we finished just in time so we won't have to share a bathroom.

We used the same tile in the master bathroom. Since we did a shower stall rather than a tub we made some shelves. The shampoo shelves are made from 12" quartzite tiles cut diagonally and stacked. The step shelf is made from 6" tiles cut and stacked 5 deep (tapering back as they stack). It's actually strong enough to hold up my fat ass!

The same 12" slate was used on the floor. There was much less prep work on our bathroom since it was the ground floor.

With all the tile installed we sealed, grouted and resealed all the tile and grout.

We finished up by installing the faucet handle, shower head, shower doors and reassembling the toilet.

Finally things can get back to normal where I just work on the K5 every weekend Big Grin

Thanks Big Grin. I don't think I'll be quitting my day job to do this stuff though. What a pain.
