Here are some new photos of the work on the house.

The tile is done ... DONE! I cut the last piece on Friday night, stuck down Saturday , and had all the last bits grouted by Sunday morning. Its so nice to get that out of the way. That was a huge undertaking. The last few tiles were some very interesting cuts. Didn't break any tiles. Smile

Went out and bought some furniture... some used leather couches for $75 each and new endtables:
Kayla likes the "new" couch:

Picked up some paint, masked the new tile off and painted the front room. The photos are crappy, but its a sage green color. Looks nice with the tile.

Got the french doors drywalled in and mudded. Still have some sanding to do, but it is looking much better. The fit ended up pretty good considering I'd never put in a door before, let alone french doors.

And new door handle things make it look and work nice:

Next up.. paint and install the door trim and baseboards, pick up some more furniture, order a new theater projector (old one is worn out), and roll some more paint.

Here is the new projector that is going in:

Mitsubishi HD1000u

720p native 16:9, 1500 lumens & 2500:1 contrast ratio.. good for a 120" or bigger screen in my theater room. I've found it for $900.

Its coming together slowly.

Kayla is very good about not going anywhere she feels she wont fit or where something is in her way. That includes walls and doors. If she wants through, she sits and talks to me on the other side. She hasn't yet pawed any door in the house to be let in or out. She's an awesome dog.

I also picked up a large doggie door to go in the wall between the kitchen and theater room just for this reason. They'll be able to go in and out regardless of whether the french doors are open or closed.

That would still be on topic as it falls under the heading: "Remodeling"

The place is looking great, dude! You've got me thinking seriously about a projector, too. Wink

lol Sleep would be good.

In addition to all the remodeling this weekend, I finished up the engine swap on my parent's Volvo 850 and weeded the yard too. I'm still sore.

One of these weekends, I plan on not doing anything. Nothing. Nada, zip, zilch. It'll be nice. Smile

I'm just replacing my current HD projector, which is worn out.. The current screen is around 100-110" 16:9, but I may put in a bigger one.

Hey, the nice thing about projectors is that for the cost of some wood and fabric, I can have as big a screen as I want. Smile

The french doors open toward the front door and are just held in place by a little spring catch, so she'd just push it open. Guinea has gotten pretty proficient at opening the french doors on her own.

WinkBut you still have to add the acoustic resilient channel and 2nd layer of drywall...

A local band rehearsing studio(s) cheaped out by loosely nailing "rolled roofing" to the walls . Pretty good bang for the buck, tho.
