Picked up this thing about 2 weeks ago. After getting all the electronics and getting it set up, it is an absolute blast to play with on the rocks. It behaves very much like a real rock crawler in how it handles obstacles.

I'm running a Rooster Crawler ESC, which works really well for crawling. With no throttle applied, the ESC applies braking to hold the truck in position. The motor is a Novak 55 turn. Radio is a Futaba 3PM 3 channel. The 3rd channel, I'll either end up using for rear steer or for a rear drive disconnect/lockout transmission so it can do front digs!

I have a few more parts on the way, such as a 195oz/in servo for steering, and a stage 2 CKRC competition suspension upgrade kit. The current servo is only around 90oz/in and it struggles to turn the wheels when the tires have a lot of traction.

I'll be bringing this RC truck on the Arizona Run for some additional camp entertainment.

Its advertised as having 70 degrees of articulation. Should improve even more with the stage 2 suspension upgrade.

I have played with one of these and they are kick ass. I gotta get me one soon.

I have an '89 Nissan Hardbody King Cab with a Chevy truck/Blazer 4" suspension lift and 3" body lift. It will soon have a TBI 350, SM-465 4 speed trans and 208 T-case rounded off with 39" tires.

The best price I found was from www.ckrccrawlers.com for $227. If you add a few more items, all orders over $300 have free shipping (if you look for the free shipping listing on the site). They also sell the Novak rooster crawler and 55T motor combo there for $100, which is a bargain & is what I got for mine. The rooster crawler ESC normally runs around $100 by itself.

Or you could get this kit, which is ready to run (except for assembly) for $369.. the components are OK, but not the best.

Personally, I prefer to get the base kit and then shop around for deals on good components.
