Looks a whole lot nicer now.. Spent the weekend prepping and painting it. The paint is a flat desert sand color. Also painted and installed the new windshield.
 Everything under the box got painted semi-flat black:  New windshield looks sharp:  Bling bling! The only chrome on the whole thing is the Mercedes star on the grill:  The gas cap got stripped and repainted red:  Turned out really nice, I think:  Still have some work to do on the undercarriage.. got most of it painted black. Yeah, I have a brand new canvas top that is awaiting installation once I get the convertible frame restored.

Nah, I bought a gallon of flat acrylic enamel, hardener and thinner and used a campbell hausfeld spray gun to spray it on. Turned out pretty good for an outdoor paintjob.

No kidding! You've got me lusting after Mogs now and looking at them on ebay... there is one in Ft. Worth that looks pretty good, too.. too bad I just spent so much on the SAS (though it's not like I would drive a mog to AZ for the Run anyway... gotta keep telling myself I did the right thing) |

Yep.. one toy at a time. You made the right decision. Once you get the SAS done and paid off, then start lookin at mogs. The mog is a special vehicle.
It is nice in that it doesnt replace my Pathfinder as an offroader. The pathy is a comfy long distance driver/wheeler and the mog is a slow moving local wheeler/camper.
