Loved the argument over the speed limit/minimum time in jail for criminal speeding. I still remember getting pulled over by Phx PD for 70 in a 40mph zone and the officer wanting to give me a ticket for "reckless endangerment". I just can't wait to see what they charge him with.

he might as well kiss that car goodbye.... wouldn't surprise me if they impound it when they catch up to him.

or am I
expecting too much?

No your not. DPS is looking at the guy who owns that Lamborghini and other high priced cars, All registered in Navada. But I would say the car is going to be seen on AZ highways driven by DPS here real soon unless the owner says the car was taken without permission.

That was stupid. Lambos aren't race cars.

At least he wasn't in a Civic going that fast...

Roll cage? 5-point harness? Fuel cell? No.

Lamborghini has no real racing history, besides Speed GT. Their other projects dropped out due to budget issues or crappiness. There are a handfull of private teams that have had success but not at any high level of racing. The engines they built for other cars worked fine though. I think they even built a few F1 engines in the early 90s.

Chrystler bought the company once. Now Audi owns it(since 1998).

They should have stuck to tractors. Razz

Actually, Lamborghini tractors are still produced, but by a different company.

The LP640 has some cool stuff on it though. Launch control, wacky engine/tranny placement, etc.

that car may not be able to be entered into an F1 race as it sits, but still......

there are a lot of rigs out there that are rock crawlers that don't have a fuel cell, or 5 point harnesses... they might not be able to enter UROC events with that set up, but their rig is still a rock crawler...

if all you have to do is add some more restraints, different fuel tank and a lil tube work, you're working with pretty much out of the box racer...

I love Friday morning debates... Chug

It just seems to me that something that does 200mph should have more than a lap belt lol

My friend's old Evo would dip into the 9's all day, run amazing lap times at the road track, and be driven to work daily for a fraction of the cost. Of course, it's not a Lambo, but whatever Big Grin

I've been 160. 200 must be ridiculous.

check these out...

James May drives the Veyron to top speed:

Jeremy drives LP640:

Google video isn't working for me right now...hmm

I'd take a Ferrari over a Lambo, anyday... hell I'd take one of those new Skylines over a Lambo, anyday... Smile

The Veyrons are sick, but a total waste of money... they say the tires won't last but a couple miles at top speed, and fuel, well, hahahahahaha probably about $100 dollars a mile...
