A couple friends of mine have Remington 870's. Really good shotguns. I have a Mossberg 500a with double pistol grips and a barrell shroud... mean little 12ga. I'd probably have to just make one of these things being that my shotgun is only about ~30" long all together.

If you've got kids, or might have kids in your house (visitors), I recommend something like THIS for long guns that you want quick access to. It's not insulated and I've got too much invested in my guns to have them destroyed in a fire. Something like the Cannon C15 with a push button lock is insulated, reasonably quick to access, and small enough to fit in a closet.

That doesn't look as complicated as the Highlift jack mounts you made K4AL. You could make one quick and custom for your gun for cheaper than they want, I almost promise you.

Got one of those Bersas for my first wife. I should have kept it, nice little gun. Been looking for (dreaming of) a Sig p230 for years, which is very similar.
My days of being able to keep a loaded shotgun 'handy' are over for at least 14 more years. Nice idea though. -Spike 'Tolerance allows the weeds to overwhelm the garden' |
