A friend had this in the bushes behind his house, its kinda rough, but I got it for free, so if it takes a little labor to clean up and use, so be it. I will be replacing the better portion of it anyway, so why not start with a rough (FREE) piece?

Did he get THAT out in the bushes, too? lol

Seriously, though, all it needs is a few barnacles to complete the look. Chug

Looks like an old WW2 relic. Big Grin

Funny thing about this island is that you can find parts for free all over the place if you look hard enough. Its common practice for people to abandon vehicles on the side of the road. Then its fair game for us poachers. As a matter of fact, I got me two visors yesterday from an abandoned HB up the street. Anyone need parts?

I have a couple dozen cars on the side of the road within a half mile of the house, and yes, they have been raped and plundered. I'm going through them looking for a headlight switch I like for the short bus' custom dash

I was going to say, it's not a picture that would be explained in detail in a travel brochure. I guess if poachers and salt air/rust don't get rid of a wreck, the jungle will just grow over it.

Drip

May I recomend making yourself a bath for your new find.

Than electrocute it.

I forget the actual recipe but you can elctrocute that sucker free of most of its rust without all the work of grinding and machining it down. also good to clean it off inside and out. I think jon put up the recipe for it a few months back.

Just suggesting because my uncle derusted a civil war mortar 10 and 15 pound cannon using nothing more than some chemicals and a car batteries and a few days worth of patience.
