ok well, iv made up mu mind that im geting rid of my DSM, and iv got the truk/suv bug. right now im driving the pathy and its fun to run around in and whatnot, but the luzury/niceness factor is not there. dont get me wrong, i turn plenty of heads, but its more of an off-road weekend bum around truck. and right now i live in the city and id like something with a lil more class and comfort.

so i thought i wanted a 4 door fronty or a taco, but im not real sure anymore. over the years since the more modern tahoes have been introduced iv seen quite a few slick looking rigs. i like the looks of the clean slightly lifted ones, and im really looking at the power that omes with it. iv driven tahoes, frontiers, and tacomas...and ill have to admit you cant beat the power of that V8. idealy id like to find one in black..or if i cant find that..white. throw..maybe 6 or so inches of lift and some bigger tires. dual exhaust and thats about it. i dont want a full-on offroad look complete with bumpers, lights, etc. thats what i have my pathy for. yeah, it would be a mall crawler..but id like it for the style.

opinions? what kinda scratch is it to lift a chevy? better/worse than nissans? im not too terribly worried about gas mileage becase....to tell you the truth..im sure my pathy gets worse!

They haven't made a 2 door Tahoe since '95 or so. You looking at a used one? I'm thinking you'll have a hard time finding one with under 100k miles, but I kinda liked the old 2 doors too....although I'd SAS it.

hmm, iv seen 99 2 doors so i dunno. asking around today i had a couple ppl tell me something about coolant leaks on the vortec engines.

hmm, i dunno. nobody else really makes an SUV that i see myself in. i dont want a newer pathy, or really..any other type of SUV. they all look so watered down. i like the fact that a V8 is offered. im not sure as far as trucks go because...well neither toyota or nissan offers teir little truks with a V8 (i know nissan dosent) and im not sure id ever even use the little bitty bed.

Ever considered a Toyota Land Cruiser? The '93-'97 80 Series is the most capable off-road Toyota ever made, with an inline 6 that puts out over 250 horsies and 275 ft/lbs of torque. The '98-present 100 Series have a V-8 and IFS, which makes them ride sweet.

That is, if you can't find a Nissan you like, of course. Armada?

i havent really thought about a TLC but i might look into them. the armada is deffinatley out. way too big and just not what im lookin for. its difficult to explain.

im 22 and single, so im looking for something with a slightly rugged (boxy) yet refined a bit on the inside. tint the windows, maybe throw in some nice stereo stuff. some bigger tires, a lift. just a sleek truck. and the 2 door tahoe really caught my attention. im not that worried about off road capabilities, cuz then ill just go get in the nissy. id probably go 4x4 just cuz of the snow in my area and whatnot.

the vortecs have a low end knock issue too...i know of a half a dozen with the same issue, spun main bearing or the like.
