That was way back when Desert Rat was sort of cool. Rmember MVM also butchered Outoways Frontier. Then there was the drama with him and the guy who was leasing space from him, the guy he hired also had a falling out. Lets not forget his own Frontier he completely jacked up. Yup, I'm with DR on this one, there is no "ALLEGEDLY" there. I remember when he would come on here and cry about people complaining about his work. The best was when someone said he wanted to be the Orange County Chopper of the 4x4 world.

Mikey, what ever did happen to him? I know there was a thing about he possably reproduced (but the world has not gone fallen out of orbit from the sun. Also there were the parts deal. I know DR and DL were trying to guide him but never heard anything since.

Several of us ran SmileyRock (Mingus Mtn) back in OCT. Maybe some more recently, I just don't know about it.. The trail's just the same as ever.. There's one stretch in the boulder field that's a little more technical than anything else, maybe 30 yards worth. The rest of it's a piece of cake.

As I recall, Nissans were from then on such poorly built vehicles that he swore them off forever and bought a 'yota.

it was worse than that, i think the idiot left the stock gears in those axles which were numericly lower than stock, then had the big tires and whined about the tranny. DUMB!

Oh yeah, I think you're right. It was something like 4.10s and heavy 1-ton axles.

And they were 38's or 39's not 35's.

I saw Mark (MVM) at the WE Rock event in Globe. He has purchased a formula TOy buggy and is trying to compete with it. He calls himself the Nissan Recovery Team. Funny thing is I had verbal fights with him and even said I'd like to meet the sucker face to face, turns out he is about 5 foot nothing and I would crush his melon like a grape. Mad faced individual btw, I never spoke with him at the event.

On another note, after reading the "why bother" thread, it is interesting to compare the state of wheelin' and outfitting a Nissan now and then. Gears aren't $600+ anymore and the Frontier has a bolt on SAS kit before the Tacoma.

I remember those posts! MVM had good ideas, just not the smarts to put them together right. He needed 5.14 gears in those Ford 1 ton axles, and from what I've read about his welding, some serious training on how to use a welder! Some people just don't have the gift of weld . Never met the guy, and sounds like I don't want to either!

Seriously I thought MVM was on the up and up. I dont know how he is now, not my concerne I actually admire his wife for putting up with him, shes a good hearted person, I respect her. Just wish MVM could understand that you do not have to screw people over just to take care of your family and that admitting one has f*cked up does not make you a lesser of a man.
