I recently tried to get my truck smogged.
It passed the sniffer but supposedly failed the OBD2 self tests. I had no check engine light, but the tech/printout said it failed. Ok. SO I go home and crack open the service manual, try to get some failure codes out of the computer- nothing. TWo weeks go by. I then take it to another test station. They say," the computer say it failed already. WEe need 30$ to diagnose it." Ok. So I go back for the diagnosis- half hour later they say," we need to do the tri-cycle test, run the full OBD2 testing/reset computer- cost is 150$ plus smog test feee. Then, it will passs." (groan)"Ok"... A half hour and 184 dollars later I was "passed". Glad this only happens every two yuears. ..................... "Climate change is no longer science. It's politics... Sounds like your problem is consistant. Might be a blown consister. That wouldn't show up on the failure codes.
 It sounds an awful lot like that song...."Don't be downhearted . I can fix it for ya' sonny. It won't take too long, it'll just take money." Sounds to me like you've been hosed!

around here my tester actually lets me look at what's going on when they hook up the caR50. There are several things that must be reset after a SES light was activited and Austin will let the truck pass even if 2 of those 5 'things' (forgot what they are called) are not reset, but nothing that driving for 20 miles over 50mph didn't fix.

need to register my truck at my brothers house. no emissions up there. hate that crap.
 It Never Ends... BUT if you let someone borrow your junk, wifey or girlfriend or mom or dad, and they don't know how to drive a rig with a locker, when they hit ice/snow they is so gonna crash that mofo! -Rondo |

No smog regs in YAvapai County, Ralph? I suppose I could register in AZ, but really no need, as yet. I would need a deliverable address. Hmm, I put 3 tanks of gas in after I reset my MIL. Probably didn't drive over 20 miles at 50 mph or better, tho. Next time I'll know. At least now I have some free time to build and install a header I keep thinking about getting the HEaders by "Ed" catalog and "info pak".
