Well, I got the AX 10 Scorpion together and took it out on the rocks today behind our house and in the adjacent lot. What a blast! There are series of waterfalls running up the rock face and you had to pick the right line--but the little critter climbed most of them. I'm sure it'll do better once I get a handle on driving it. It's EXACTLY like 4 wheeling full size except, well, you're outside the vehicle and no harm done usually if you dump it over or go endo. Everything works fine so far. I had to reverse the throws on the throttle and steering servos but that was easy with the programmable transmitter. Datz you'll have to get up here with your AX10 and crawl some of these rocks behind the house. I swear it like a miniature Moab! (and don't ask for pics--sorry--I have no idea where the digital camera is at).

Excellent! Glad to see you got it together!

Were you able to get the foams cut and wheel weights installed?

These RC crawlers really do work just like the real thing, only smaller!

Yep. Put about 3 1/2 ounces around each wheel. Drilled out the wheels as you suggested. I trimmed the wheel foams just like in the picture. The tires are really squishy and stick like glue to the rocks. You have to come up during the daytime Saturday and drive the waterfalls on the lot next door. What a hoot! You're right. Just like the big rigs only smaller. Same issues with line, balance and wheel placement. I deconstructed that 8 pack of batteries and made it into a split six pack. I also bought the axle plates from CKRCCrawlers. Drove it around enough that I ran the batteries down. Had to figure out the pirhana charger. But did that and got them recharged just fine.

When I built the wheels I cut a 1.5 mm allen wrench with a dremel and chucked it into my rechargable cordless drill. I put it on slow speed for torque. Made running all those little bolts down a piece of cake!

Fantastic!!

I ordered a few more parts for mine as well. Have some 120mm threaded CKRC aluminum shocks on the way along with a tool set, some battery connectors to make more battery packs, and some bent lower links for the front and rear.

I'll plan on being up in that neck of the woods on Saturday and Sunday.

Stop by on Saturday. Abbea and Joseph are going to be here and I plan on doing their brakes. Then we can wheel the rocks!

I might be on a ride but even if I am, you can still pick it up...There is even a dirt road that runs from Jerome to Perkinsville rd...right by my house. Its nothing special but the scenery is somewhat cool. I'll pm you my address.
