Welp.. jut got back from the doctor. he said I'm out of work for the week, doctor's orders.

Because of the odd lack of feeling in my legs, he ordered an MRI. Should be getting a call soon to get that scheduled.

For now though, I'm looking up some new handlebars for my bike so I can ride with a more upright position.

I hope my back heals soon..

The odd lack of feeling will be replaced by sciatica pain{sciatic neuralgia}.And wiping your ass will become next to impossible.Been there, done that.At least you got your MRI right away,I waited 3 months for mine. The quicker you know, the quicker you heal.

I didn't order Ape hangers, but I did find some 5" rise MTB bars at Amazon.com for $6:

If those are too short, I'll probably have to go with some cruiser bars and a tall stem to get the height on the bars.

The positive side of this is that it will be longer before you have to dig up and drain your septic this way.... Smile

I went through the same thing.. they said I pinched a nerve L3/L4.

They said only fix was pills and expensive freaking therapy, of course at their location only Smile

Neither worked for me..

So they said the only thing left was to deaden the nerve..

But what did work was the following..

Got rid of my RX8 - Seat too hard
Got my GMC Truck - Soft Seats
Changed my bed from a mattress to a Sleep number

After those changes the pain was gone pretty much for good..

Oh, yeah… one thing that’s sure to help… Streeeeechhhh a bit more…

got the results back from the MRI I had done this morning. They said I have at least one bulging discs, (mabye more). I'll be meeting with my doctor for the details on Monday morning.

So, now I need to start researching treatments.

Apparently, there is no quick fix as far as healing goes, so I'm hoping that something will help.

Also sounds like I may be out of work longer than I thought. At leat another week or so... Time to get started on all that paperwork as well. Frown

Hey...I've had a bulging disk too. Pulled sheetrock all day off a remodel about 2 years back. Went surfing right afterwords, tried to jump up on my first wave and BAM, thought I was going to drown. Made it out of the water (in pain as you can imagine), managed myself into the truck. Managed to be able to drive home and was on the floor for a week. None of this sounds like a big deal unless it's happened to you before and you know how much pain there is getting up let alone trying to swim and walk over splippery rocks.

Bottom line is we're fucked for life. It will get better but will never be the same.

Beer plus vicodines and somas = relief

Here's one. Maybe there's something comparable out your way.
