FWIW, REad the fine print when you sign up for PT.I got suckered- spent some time in PT- they never asked for a COPAY, and my surgeon said it was all covered. It wasn't.

Well, 2 months after all PT was over I got a bill. I refused to pay it, went back and made a scene. Got a few more bills and some phone calls then it stopped. Each time they called I really read them the riot act.

They billed me after the fact- which is dead wrong. Pay when services are rendered, and if they ask you to sign saying you're liable for charges- that ins doesn't pay- make darn sure you think about it before signing- add a bunch of your own chicken scratch to CYA, as I assume your med coverage will pay.

The suckers were getting almost 100$/hr for basic exercises I could have done at home w/ a TOTal Gym and other junk.

FWIW,
Looks like the DRX 9000 spinal decompression "rack" is in Phoenix, too.

Here's a link to a clinical trial

From what I read about this, insurance doesn't cover, so I know that's a big deal breaker , right there. This would be something you'ld have to foot out of your own pocket should PT off little/no help in the coming months.. A little research won't hurt, though.

Wow! Thanks for all the support, guys! I did read the fine print on the PT place and they take the copay up front before you even start the PT for the day.

I am really better off than it sounds. I can get around the house OK, its just that I walk a little funny now because my legs arent working right (best i can describe it). I cant do any lifting or bending over for anything, so i have to find ways around it. I really feel like an old man. It kinda sucks.. but hey, that means I'm closer to getting one of those scooter things, right? You know I wont leave well enough alone with one of those. Mine will shoot flames out the tailpipe and pull wheelies.

I know I shouldnt be doing it, but I've also been using my garden tractor to do muscle work for me. Flip picked up my parts pathy, so I used the tractor that I rebuilt to pull it out to the street. It was effortless on my part.. The 18hp tractor pulled it like it was nothing.

Thats kinda how its been going the last week though. Finding other ways to do things so I dont aggravate my back.

Even my motored bicycle, I am buildng a new one (well, at least ordering parts for it) aimed at complete comfort and an upright seating position while riding. The old motored bike, I am giving to my roommate who is currently on social security disability and has a hard time putting gas in his VW bug. I know he will reallly appreciate the new freedom it'll give him.

So, thats hwo its been going for me. I have PT at 3.15 this afternoon, so we will see how that goes.

Kinda' silly? Like this?

Silly Walks Director: Good morning. I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, but I'm afraid my walk has become rather silly over these months, so it takes so long to get to the office. Now,uhm, what was it again?

Silly Walks Applicant: Uh, well sir, I-I-I I have got a silly walk and I'd like to obtain government backing to help me develop it.

Silly Walks Director: I see. Well, may I see this silly walk of yours?

Silly Walks Applicant: Oh, yes, certainly.

Silly Walks Director: Yes, I see, tha-tha-that's it, is it?

Silly Walks Applicant: Ah, well, yes, that's it.

Silly Walks Director: Yes, yes, yes. It's not particularly silly, is it?

Silly Walks Applicant: Well, ah-ah...

Silly Walks Director: I mean, the left leg isn't silly at all and the right leg merely does a four dare O'Brian half turn every alternate step.

Silly Walks Applicant: Yes, but I feel with a federal grant I could make it a lot more silly.

Silly Walks Director: Mr. Stagback, the very real problem is what I find out. You see, there's defense, education, housing, health, social security, silly walks. They're all supposed to get the same. But last year the government spent less on Silly Walks than they did on industrial organisation. We're supposed to get 348 millions pounds a year to cover our entire Silly Walks proposal. Coffee?

Silly Walks Applicant: Yes, please.

Silly Walks Director: Hello, uh, Mrs. Twolumps, uhm, could we have two cups of coffee, please.

Mrs. Twolumps: Yes, Mr. Teabag.

Silly Walks Director: Mad as a hatter. You see, the Israelis they have a man who can take his own left leg off and swallow it with every alternate step, whereas the Japanese, cunning electronically obsessed little...

Mrs. Twolumps' tray: [Splash]

Silly Walks Director: Yes, thank you, Mrs. Twolumps. You're...you're really interested in silly walks, aren't you?

Silly Walks Applicant: Right there!

Silly Walks Director: Right, well, take a look at this!

It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

Done with first round of PT. not too bad, but a little painful.

I did a number of exercises to stretch the muscles in my back, then they did ultrasonic treatment and some sort of electric stimulation treatment. When I get a chance, I scan and post up the exercise sheet they gave me.

I am definitely going to be sore tonight though.

That ultrasound treatment is awesome. I've had to go through PT a number of times. Just don't make the mistake I did and ask them if it's a boy or girl when they're giving you the treatment. Pisses them off...
