This might make up for them putting 'S' badges on their Frontiers. Big Grin

Yes, but they aren't built here.

I would have checked them out before I bought my Mitsu-Fuso cabover, but I couldn't even find a dealer locally. Isuzus are GM now, so that was a no-go.

Cummins motors. Thses trucks might be worth something. Hopefully nissan will give them stong axles and powerful brakes.

I've heard they may even be built on the dodge chassis. Kinda like the Suzuki Frontier. If that is the case, they can keep it. Maybe they will use a dana 30 behind it so it will be like old times.

Dodges in 3/4 ton and up have solid fronts, solid frames, and strong engines.

Their transmissions are crap, and I don't much care for the styling on the 2002+ trucks, but there is lots of potential here.

The dealbreaker as I see it might be that Chrysler is in big financial trouble right now, and the investment firm that bought them out will likely restructure. We could see something as drastic as the Dodge nameplate being dropped and only Chrysler remaining to shrink up the dealer network.

Hey,

Good find dude.

The only thing I don't like about the Turbo Cummings Diesel is tranny.

Let's be honest, Nissan is hardly going out of their ways to build a reliable & high fuel efficeient commercial Engine for the US market.

I'll take an American made, Solid Axle, Nissan Diesel any day! Unless GM & Mopar are building/engineering the tranny..hehe.

My buddy just bought a monster Dodge Truck with a 500HP diesel engine, with the Bluemax exhaust... the truck is very nice except that it is constantly having emission problems that causes constant power issues...

Get this... the truck isn't really meant for short trips... if you run it then intend to run it for more then a 100 miles, else short trips cause issues...

I guess a couple of buddies on his on a dodge board have returned theirs due to lemon laws and he's on a "beta" test firmware to help correct the issues...

Go Dodge!

Some much for his daily driver..

Well, a 500hp diesel one ton truck probably isn't the most practical daily driver.

Truck diesels aren't made to short trip all the time. In fact, it's better to leave them at idle rather than shutting down and restarting all the time, such as when running errands, etc.

Sorry to bring old parts back up. But I believe that Nissan Diesel and Nissan are two different companies without any affiliation.
