Picked up the new bike yesterday. Took it down to the gas station and filled it up--$11.71!!! Boy is this thing ever sweet. I plan on going cruising with some friends next Sat AM up to Strawberry and back.

Niiiice!! I'll have to check it out next time I'm up there. Can't wait to see it in person.

BTW, my bike costs $2.05 to fill the tank. Smile

OK--you win that one! But $11.71 is still 1/3 to 1/4 what it takes to fill the sheep. I'll see if I can take and post a pic somehow. You know I'm kind of a luddite about that stuff though.

It's all about the smile factor. Fuel costs are just a side benefit. At least for me.

So you have plans for a Dynoget "powercommander", Senior? It supposedly turns the on/off switch( throttle) into a much more smoother/graduated control. Better bottom end and smoother response.

Eventually I'll do the pipes and air intake and since it's EFI I'll have to install a Power Commander or something similar to reprogram the injection. These Mean Streaks have plenty of grunt dead stock, but these big V twins are so undertuned that they respond well to the big 3 upgrades. Still won't stay with the crotch rockets but they'll blow most Harleys off the road.

Also, I took a digital pic of the bike, but I can't figure out what to do with it.

Wow.. nice bike, Andy!!!

I am smack in the middle of putting gears in my bicycle. Smile It'll go super slow, or top out around 40mph.. and still get 140-150mpg. Cool

I ordered a high performance (and very tunable) Dellorto 16mm flat-slide carburetor. Found that you can buy them for smaller engines straight from Dellorto for dirt cheap ($60!!). Next up is some port matching and figuring out what kind of expansion chamber exhaust this thing needs to really wake it up. Its all gonna have to be custom made of course, because when's the last time you saw a bicycle with a fat shiny chrome pipe?

And the Dellorto carb:

That's all the postjacking im gonna do... back to your regularly scheduled motorcycle chat.

Thanks bille!!!!!!!

I also ordered a book on tuning 2 strokes to see what other things I can try on it.

The cool thing about these engines is that if I accidentally ruin it while trying something new, I can rebuild the whole top end for about $40. Big Grin

Good grief, my thread on my hot rod V twin has turned into a moped thread! Of course when Datz is done with it it will be turbocharged and have 27 gears with a full fairing. lol I've really got to figure out how to upload a picture so we can straighten this thread out.
