On Jan 27th I ordered from SLR, after many emails and phone calls and promises I received my carbon fiber roof rack piece on Mar 22-nearly 2 months!

The piece is so poorly made it is unusable, There are spots where the laminate is missing and the carbon fiber material is sticking up through it.

Now I'm trying to return it.

Anybody else has a bad experience with them?

SLR has gotten a lot of mixed reviews from the Nissan community, and your story sounds like dozens of others I've read. Yet others swear by SLR. My limited expereince with them has been good, however, it does appear they have consistency issues.

I had a bad time with them several years ago. I am trying them again for headers. Was told several times itwill be a few weeks, it has been several months. Not a big deal right now, but got a call saying the unit is shipping, just called to ask for a tracking number, waiting for a call back right now, will let you know what happens.

One of the guys that works for spencer posts on NOR, and seems quick to reply when people have posted with problems. Might want to post over there and see if you get a response.

I had one horrable experience and my friend had the next one and that was enough for me never to try them again. They keep promising to change, but I don't know whatever happened to Chris or something like that. watch your credit card statements, there book keeping sucks. I was told that the money would not be taken until the product was ready to ship it was taken and 2 months later I still had no product just the routine "it's in the mail" My buddy cancelled his order after finding out it was not in stock after all and a couple of months later it was billed and they said they shipped, my buddy told them he already cancelled and ordered + received from another company.

TF&J just order the headers for the 3.0 from somebody else and drill out the flanges. I believe it is only the stud size that is different.

Well, I never got a call back, so I called them again the following day and was told the units are still being held up in the ceramic coating place. Again I have been told it will be a couple more weeks. Roll Eyes No biggie, I want them to be done right, and the wait will be worth it in my opinion. The units are very nice looking from all acounts, and price wise, I feel 550 is resonable. My buddy got some headers for his Chebby that are very nice and they cost almost 800 bucks!

Gator...do you mean the ones for the 90-95 HB and Pathy HEADERS?? IF...this will work...(hope it does...that'd be AWESOME for A LOT of people)....then, many people are going to be getting headers for $200-$400 from AC and drilling 'em out themselves!!! (if that's all that's required) Coolio!!! Later...

I have 3.0 pacesetter headers on the 3.3 on my hardbody, had to file out just a few holes. Not sure how 3.0 headers work in a frontier engine bay, though.

I never heard that before now about the 3.0's fitting the 3.3. Sounds great, but I would not get the pacesetter brand if I was to do this. I would use the Doug Thorley units for their superior quality. In my case I already have the SLR ones comming, so that is what I am going with. Again the quality of the the entire assembly is what counts to me because I want them to be leak free and last forever.

what do you do for the primary cats if you use 3.0 headers on a 3.3? stupid 3.3's and their 4 O2 sensors.

I'm planning on re-doing the complete exhaust so I was thinking of using a high flow cat as well. But I bet it would be cool for all of 5 minutes to have open headers! Big Grin That project is still a year away though, that is if the motor is not dumped in favor of a V8 by then.

pacesetters are by far not the best, but with a 1/2 hour of widening the crossover pipe, mine worked fine. And for less than half the cost, so I'm still happy.

3.0 headers will not EASILY work on 3.3 engines with OBDII emissions. The cats bolt right up to the headers on 3.3s for one major reason, quick heat up on cold start. I

There are ways around this, though.

So the headers that are made for the 3.3 allow the cats to bolt right up? They have to be moved with those so I am assuming that your gonna have some fabbing to do with either of the headers?
