I've heard of whales beaching themselves, but I don't think I've ever heard of a Toyota doing it.

Looks like with some hard digging it can be recovered without a scratch, although the water damage will be there.

That truck must have been left on the beach and the folks looking at it in that photo found it like that. Thats my guess.
The sand around the back of it looks too solid for it to have just happened. |

Not to mention sand in every nook and cranny. Its crazy where sand will go when a truck's been swamped like that. |

I doubt that truck's leaving that spot without heavy equipment. The entire truck is filled with wet sand, it probably weighs well over 10,000 pounds. Add the problem of the constant water movement- the sea is trying to bury it while it's being extricated- and I doubt anything short of a crane is gonna work, and damage is gonna be high. Even then, it would most likely never run again, nor would it be feasible to clean the sand out of the dash, electronics, vents, upholstery, mechanicals, etc. That thing is toast.

Me and a buddy of mine buried his Gran Prix on the beach at South Padre Island.Being from Nebraska,we thought Tide was a detergent. We got it out before it submerged completely, but for the next 3 years we were still vacuuming sand out of it and it rusted in the strangest spots. In other words,I wouldn't want that Toyota for free.
