So we had a couple officers complain to our boss over at the Military Police station about our dogs barking at all hours of the night. He calls in the kennel master and ask why the dogs are barking? UMMM, because they are dogs sir! He wanted us to do surveilance to see if anyone was bothering the dogs but didn't realized that someone is there with the dogs all night to do checks every three hours.

Anyways we decided to keep a log(yes we had nothing better to do) and this is what we have so far. Thought it would be go for a laugh.

Note: Beast is my dog.

Surveillance log – Why the MWD’s bark

2200 on 08FEB06 “Taps” is blared over 2 loudspeakers near kennel area. Dogs begin to bark. Rocky throws his water bucket around and dogs continue to bark.

SGT Eastman sleeps on couch at kennels from 0001 to 0515 and is not awoken by any dogs barking during this time, but that doesn’t mean the dogs didn’t bark.

0530 on 09FEB06 SGT Eastman enters the kennels to feed dogs. They begin to bark in anticipation of food.

0600 on 09FEB06 The cannon is fired as part of Flag Call. The dogs begin to bark.

0620 on 09FEB06 A car parks near the kennel area. The driver exits the vehicle and slams the door. Dogs begin to bark. Rocky throws his water bucket around and dogs continue to bark.

0628 on 09FEB06 Nol and Knuppel continue to bark because they are young and immature.

0631 on 09FEB06 Britt hears something and begins to bark. Soon, all the dogs are barking again.

0636 on 09FEB06 Beast barks for no apparent reason.

0639 on 09FEB06 Beast barks again for no apparent reason.

0641 on 09FEB06 Beast barks again for no apparent reason.

0652 on 09FEB06 Workers arrive to work on the indoor firing range right across the street from the kennels. They extend an aluminum ladder. The dogs begin to bark. You think its bad now; just wait until the gunfire starts.

0653 on 09FEB06 All-Star workers begin their day by driving past the kennels in a large convoy from their motor pool right down the street; their maintenance trucks are rattling the whole way. The dogs continue to bark.

0702 on 09FEB06 SFC Brenckle, SGT Davison, and SGT Josa arrive for work. The dogs are all barking.

0703 on 09FEB06 SSG Clayton and SPC Tuman arrive for work. The dogs continue to bark.

0714 on 09FEB06 SPC Tuman walks past kennels. Knuppel, Rocky and Nol begin to bark.

0725 on 09FEB06 Knuppel barks for no apparent reason.

0740 on 09 Feb 06 Britt and Beast barking because Tuman is getting Britt
ready for training.

From 0750 to 1200 all the dogs, with the exception of Wendy and Rocky, are in training at assigned locations. It is unknown if Wendy and Rocky barked during this time, however being of the K-9 persuasion most likely barked at something somewhere in the Kennels.

1230 on 09 Feb 06 Rocky begins to bark when approached by his handler, SGT Josa. Both Nol and Knuppel followed suit and began to bark.

1240 on 09 Feb 06 While giving Rocky a break SGT Josa eats a banana thus teasing Rocky and coaxing Rocky into a begging fit. This fit ceased only after SGT Josa gave Rocky several bites of his banana.

1310 on 09 Feb 06 All the dogs begin to bark in unison when several metal object are tossed by the construction men across the street. This happens periodically throughout the rest of the construction workers’ working day.

1557 on 09 Feb 06 Knuppel barks at several All Star vehicles driving by the Kennels (Or he was barking at the leaf that had blown by his run during a swift breeze).

You need to stop them dogs from barking. Sheesh.
