Hello all..
I'm a newbie here at this place. I am also new to the world of off-road. I don't know which vehicle would be good for me a Jeep or a Toyota...Any advice? I would greatly appreciate your help.

Are you trolling on a Nissan board, or are you serious?

He could like us better then other boards. Maybe he owns a nissan but not a 4wheel drive one.

What are you looking to do with the 4x4? Rockcrawling? Mud? dirt roads? What models are you looking at price range? details?

Again write what you want to do. How much extra money you can set aside for building.

Nissan's are awesome, expensive to build compared to many other makes/models.

They should put this picture on every one of those cars made. I respect Honda, just not those two models

..

I saw a 1997or 98 Lexus on Black Bear near Silverton Colorado. Later we talked about trails and 4x4s at the motel. The Lexus had a four inch automatic lift in 4x4 mode. He told me the front and rear electric lockers were not available in later models.

... I was impressed with the highway performance and the Lexus could do all the trails in the Ouray-Silverton area. But… don’t over look the Pathfinders and Xteras. My 1999 V-8 Grand Cherokee with front and rear ‘V-Locks’ and 2" lift was not as good as the Lexus with electric lockers or later slightly modified Nissans.

Have a good one  and see you later.. Don S..

For Nissan I would chose a 04 Xterra.

The keep Rubicon out the box is a good wheeler. Make sure you get the duel factory lockers. Warn makes a front winch mount bumper that not to expensive. Warn also makes a rear bumper as well.

Heres one thats built on ebay for 23K

Invest in some tools, and start collecting spare parts.

Baaa aa aa. Welcome to the sheep world! Where will you be wheeling? Jeeps don't fail any more often unless you've cut corners in the build. Unless you have the optioned D44 rear axle, you WILL have one of the weakest rear axles on the planet in the Dana 35. Good luck and be prepared to replace it after it breaks.
