on the other hand, a friend of mine owns a benz and she had to take it back to the dealer because there was a recall on the airbags... something like they could go off at any given time for no reason.  |

Although funny, it's the epitome of fake.
First off the logic. You don't film skateboards on a smooth flat sidewalk. Cliche "old woman" with a bag that just happens to be in this residential cross walk. There is this car, top down, that just happens to be at this non descript cross walk with no other traffic. It all gets caught on film. Then you have the things like the airbag. If you've ever had one go off in your face, it is a lot more violent than that, and deflates instantly. No to mention the the force the car was struck with, or lack thereof. But like I said really funny.   Meh. |

If you've ever seen an airbag go off you'd also know there is a lot of smoke involved. It's quite common for people to think their car is on fire because it will fill the interior with white smoke.

I've never seen an air bag go off. Been in plenty of wrecks when I felt the airbags should have gone off. Never did.
My brother a year ago rolled his 2002-3 S10 Extreme v6. None of the airbags went off. Neither the front or the sides. The truck was completely totaled. At the time of this wreck I was looking into upgrading to a 97 Hardbody to have the passenger and driver side airbag. After seeing that I decided to quit looking. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |
