Perhaps your one time use plastic is on Emma's keychain. She has one of her used pacemakers that Medtronic engraved with her name after they analyzed it to see why it failed in the warranty period on her car keys. It creeps her sister right out.

Sorry to hear about the layoff. We're in the middle of re-organization here so I can't help much until I'm sure I survived it. There is a posting at ASU for an instrument maker right now that might fit for a fabbing tech savvy kind of guy.

Get the resume out there as much as possible. The more interviews, the more likely you'll find a job and have a soft landing.Good luck.Hopefully this turns out to be a blessing. Big Grin

I got a job at SAI Technology in Gilbert as an actual Test Engineer(Guadalupe and Cooper). Their testers are all manual, except one that is in DOS. I'll be start working with a gentleman to convert the manual testers to Automatic Test Systems and write the code in LabView 8.5. (LabView is the graphical programming language by National Instruments that I know how to program.) They have been in business for more than 10 years and mainly repair avionic cockpit gauges for the major airlines and military. They also do custom harness and panels working with Virginia and Mac panel. So, I'll be working with Cliff Young(Rep I worked with at Medtronic) from time to time at Virginia Panel Corporation. I start tomorrow, Monday July 7th. Then a couple weeks later, I go to New Mexico to take a class on Test Stand, which is a program that works with LabView. Pretty much similar activities that I was doing, except I get to learn via a class and not as I do a project, cool eh? It's a small company, about 55 employees and growing. They are planning to move in to a bigger building next year. The pay is only a bit more than I was making at Medtronic and they don't match 401K, but with the way the market is, I consider it a blessing I found work so quickly. And, I have that important engineer title, Woohoo!!!

The way I got the job is a real example of networking at its finest. Medtronic also enrolled me in an outsourcing company, Right Management Inc, that I am still in contact with. I used an outdated template on my resume to get this job at SAI Technology. That is what I found out, so I am working on updating to the latest and greatest for future positions.

Enjoy the ride,
Ben
