Yea I was in the garage doing some work when I saw smoke powering up from a roof top across the way. I raced over and the newly constructed house across from me was in a complete inferno within a few minutes. I scrambled back to my house and got the tractor fired up and drove over to find the acherage around the inferno was blazing up. So I dropped the gannon box and drove circles around the fires, then plowed the burning scrub oaks down. It took the fire dept. about 45 minutes to get there, and by then there was nothing left. It was nice that the neigbors around here all helped with shovels and stuff. I talked to one of the 4 or 5 workers on the house, and was told the plumber started it, but not sure how.

Oh geez. A simple piece of sheet steel or even better, some spray "heat shield" could have saved his insurance a huge headache- if he was insured/bonded.

Stupidity reigns.

Plumbers cause too many fires.

He stopped it from spreading to surrounding brush near his own property.

The winds in the area could easily skip embers over long distances, devoid of brush.

yep, we would do that when a field started on fire....black dirt doesn't burn well. On a side note, if I had a new house started on fire, that bastard better burn to the ground. No way in hell I'm allowing them to rebuild a burned house I haven't moved into.

NO chit, half the building I worked in burned pretty bad. We have a 90 day temp occupancy on the rest of the building that didn't burn and it stinks. The smell is so bad it sticks to your clothes.

That looks like it was going to be a nice expensive (big) house.
