I got a 120 Cubic Foot CO2/Argon cylinder for Christmas and I didn't like the 2 chain method the welding cart had for fastening it. Plus, even when the chains were tight, the taller tank seemed it could tip over easily. So, I fabricated my own mounting system. One of the last welding projects using the self-shielding wire.

The tank will be held in at the bottom by it's weight an the top by a 1" X 1/8" strap:

Here is the finished project. I needed to cut a strip in the cover for the gas hose:

One more thing, just with the welder, it was harder than I would thought of to maneuver the cart around. Even harder with the gas cylinder on it. Other than the 100 pound limit, that I knew I was over, I found that most welding carts that size use smaller tanks and welders. I have some extra castors for another project, and they happen to just be slightly a bit taller and are heavier duty. And also from harbor Freight. So, I replace the castors and it made al the difference in the world. Much easier to maneuver now. All that was needed was to drill 3 holes per side.

The left black castor is the original:

Now, anybody know what the pressure should be? Or, at least a good starting point?

Enjoy the ride,
Ben

Your regulator should be scaled in flow rate, not pressure. I keep mine at 10-12 L/min. Works good and the tank lasts a long time. Even with all the welding I do I only fill my tank about once a year.
