OK, the NTSB just came out today recommending owners not drive the 5+ million cars involved in the sticky gas pedal recall.
Here's my theory. Since the US governement owns a huge chunk of Chrysler and GM, this is mostly a smear campaign to tarnish Toyota's image and to boost sales of other brands. Why Toyota? Go after the biggest dog there is, and milk a single news story of some idiot who didn't know enough to shift his car into neutral into the most massive recall in automotive history.
This is Toyota's tylenol moment....it'll take years for them to dig out of this hit to their reputation.
Meanwhile, GM, Ford, Chrysler sales soar.
That's my theory and I'm sticking to it. Never underestimate the power of government meddling.
I am with you on this.... Ford is having braking issues also(Fusion,Milan hybrids)... havent heard much on that.. oh yeah I forgot, its a government thing.
