You could heat half of northern AZ with the schwingfueren heater on the mog! Or turn it around and use it for jet propulsion. Smile

The weather for tuesday and Payette Draw is looking really really good.

Well, the mog now has desert tan shag berber carpet in the back as well as a fireplace. lol Ok, not a real fireplace, but a nice little propane catalytic heater that sits on the metal battery box. Where is the pimp smiley when you need it? I also picked up a CO sensor/alarm as well. Since this thing doesnt ventilate like a tent does, I want to be real careful with the heater. I figured while I was at it, I'd put in a digital indoor/outdoor thermometer too. With the heater on, it keeps the radio box at a comfortable 75F with the outside temps in the 40s.

Next week, I'm gonna pick up some MDF to make a storage compartment area and a deck for the air mattress. THere will be lots of storage for folding chairs, tools, fluids, etc, and it'll all be accessible from the back of the mog.

You need to paint "If this MOG's a rockin', don't come a knockin'." on the back now that you've got it all pimped out. Chug

I'll get pics once I get the MDF in there. Right now, it just looks like a mog with half of the back carpetted.

Yeah, its probably going to be chilly. I'm not sure what kinda altitude our camp is at, but it sounds like its around 3000-4000ft or so, so temps at night are probably gonna be in the 30s, mabye less if we get a cold front coming through later in the week.

This is the heater I borrowed from my roommate:

I hope I can get my heater core issure resolved before the run... otherwise, no heat, or defroster will SUCK.

I really don't care too much about not having heat, but that defroster is key. I will hate having to drive with the windows down if it is mid 30s out, lol

SOunds like a good project, but ( personally) I hate working w/ that stuff. The sawdust is quite toxic, and it's not very structural, and is much heavier than a good exteriorrated ply.

smiley34 It is cheap, tho.

I want to leave NOW!

I just did some shopping tonight. All I need now are perishables; bread, meat, eggs.

Getting my gear organized this weekend.

Just use some Grapefruit Seed Extract to absorb that dust, and negate the toxicity levels, lol smiley36

smiley6 I'm sure a NIOSH95 or 100 mask and googles will work much better at filtering the superfinedust.

yeah - we're all gonna be driving like zombies at this time next week smiley26

We'll definitely do a grocery store run in AZ before we head out.... so hold off on the perishables 'till then.

I'm doing all my pre-shopping and truck prep today - which makes the anticipation that much worse (since I'm working in Austin now, if it doesn't go with me when I drive back down there on Sunday it's not going to AZ... so it's like I'm leaving for the run now.... but not quite).
