I still need at least the rear locker, and of course, crawler gears... Being on strike tho, has seriously put my toy money on hold.... at least I have time to do the "free" upgrades, like bobbing the bed, rewiring my offroad lights, and other stuff.

Still wondering what I wanna do about the rear... ARB, or swap the whole axle for a dana 44, and put a detroit in there???

Gotta decide soon tho, AZ run is right around the corner Wink

I am in no way ready for this next AZ Run. My truck is the same as it was for the last AZ Run except for the fact that my Calmini IA is really messed up now and my inner CV boots are wrecked. I still need to get a locker in my truck and I REALLY need to start working on my D44 project. The only way I'm sorta prepared is I got 2 5-gallon NATO gas cans and a camper shell. My bills are killing me right now so I'm not really seeing myself getting any of the stuff I need to get done for a long time. We'll see though.

I need to build a completely new rear bumper/spare tire/fuel/jack carrier.
Redo my rear rock rails (they are too far forward and the rear tires hit when it flexes).
Trim the hell out of my fenders so I stop cutting up my tires.
Figure out why my engine is down on power (may require a complete rebuild before the run).

I should also install a heater so my windshield isn't fogging up.

SAS is DONE (and has already had a light test-wheel).

More things I'm *trying* to do before the run:
1) Front ARB locker (open diff right now 'cause it was cheap and let me get the SAS done sooner)

2) Crawler gears (probably AC's 3.7's 'cause of the $300 difference)

3) Keith-fab rear bumper/tire carrier

4) 35" tires (or mebbe some of those cheap 34x10.5 LTBs)

5) Calmini sway bar

(if I keep quoting myself will I go blind?)

Front locker is in. I think I'm ready for the Run as-is... though I'm still going to try to do gears and tires between now and then if I can. Right now I think I qualify for the most-lift-with-the-smallest-tires award lol

I got my spare tire carrier done in the bed...just a couple more minor mods to keep my tools from sliding all over back there, and I'll be done in the back.

I want a Calmini front Dshaft....hope to have that prior to the run.

Also possible is a winch....maybe.

After Rocker Panel Pass, I see the severity of getting at least crawler gears. It would be nice to stuff a locker in the rear axle too, but we'll see how far I can go, lol

Have the crawler gears and a LSD from Calmini for the front, just have to get them installed. Already ARB locked in the rear.

Still need to mount tire in bed somehow, get a geri can, and some spare parts.

Oh, noticed that the dates now show Monday thru Saturday, I thought it was Tues.-Sat. did something change?

Looking forward to it.

Damn old age, ok, I guess I need memory pill prior to the run, another thing to add to the list.

Already committed going to California the prior weekend and coming back on Monday, guess I will meet up with you all on Tuesday.

You can always just go around. Filter is completely optional. Wink You can get out of the wash onto the access road right before and after.

I'm starting to look at how I can make it out to AZ for this trip. It might come down to a choice between truck parts or my 4th arizona run.

If I don't get at least crawler gears b4 the run, I may not go. I don't wanna kill other parts on the truck by flogging it if I don't have to.

Like I said, running Rocker Panel Pass, and having to do it with no gears, made it very difficult Wink

Stacy did OK the purchase tho... but not until I am back to work.

Tcase gear swaps are a piece of cake brother, and the only thing that needs outsourcing or a tool I don't own is pressing off the bearings and pressing them on the new gears. The winch is just the same as the one in the pic I linked in my last post above.
