Mods are great, so is that warm sleeping bag.

But it doesn't mean snot if you are stuck on the highway because you forgot to check all the mechanical stuff on your truck.

Start checking EVERYTHING and make sure you have spare belts, hoses etc....

Meh.

Everything on my truck is new, rebuilt, overhauled or replaced with upgrade parts except for the carrier bearing. I'll be replacing that next weekend because the rubber is dry and cracking in places.

I'm still not sure what to do about skids. I want to get something underneath, but anything I put there will have to come off once I get back. (Mud + skids = 500 extra pounds in Mississippi.)
I am looking into nylon. Maybe I can make them easily detachable. Then I could clean the underside properly.

It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

Doing my third timing belt. I started doing them at 50k after what happened to Herk. Cheap, easy and about 3 hours. Also that dreaded upper hose.
