Well after a good washing today and then an inspection all I had was this....
I'm not going to list my Calmini driveshaft because I have been trying to find the noise ( that was it) and it didn't really break, just finally found the noise and replaced it before it broke on an obstacle...... Any way show us your carnage! |

Exploded center CV & popped u-joint cap front drive shaft on Payette Draw D2 about ¾” way through. Replaced the next day with shorten EB spare shaft welded by keith the worked great for the rest of the run with 0 vibs.
Huge rusty nail in the PSF tire; removed & patched with safety seal in JTNP off I-10. Still holding air but leaking a tiny bit, needs a patch from the inside I hope. |

My truck is tore up but it still moves under its own power. Beefy James Fabrication just welded both my front shock mounts back on today. You can see Terrence welding the passenger side mount back together at the Payette trail head after it broke the first time once I get the movie file digitized and posted. It turns out that I put the truck back together taller after the tranny drop and the Bilsteins are too short at full droop anymore. I've also got some real nice gouges and a big old dent in my SWANKy full body skid right under the t-case. My stock front bumper is way more beat up than it used to be AND I bent up my Calimini idler arm mount. The arm is fine but the mount got shear-twisted on Rocker Panel Pass and I couldn't turn left until I wedged the idler arm back down with a torsion bar. Thanks Reserector!! Without that torsion bar I'd have blocked up the trail that day. My spring hangers are also more mushed up than they used to be.
I've got video of Keith trail welding the replacement driveshaft coming up too sooner or later. I'll clip the trail welding down into little movies and post up download links when I get them done. |

Well, I won the award for most carnage. I haven't had a chance to upload my pictures yet so I'll just list the breakages here for now:
-Fragged front wheel bearings, both sides, including the axle needle bearings. Most likely both spindles and hubs will also need replaced. This was on day one, on the pavement. -smashed exhaust causing an exhaust leak at one of the flanges. This happened on day 2 on Pyeatt. -Day 4 was the big day. On this rock: I blew up my drivers side front hub lock, lost a bolt in my power steering resevoir and lost power steering and busted my rear diff housing causing my passenger side axle tube to flop around. I managed to limp the truck home with lots of help from Keiths welder and came back out to finish the camp in my Maxima. Brent 1972 K5 Blazer |

Sounds like you should have driven the Nissan right from day one. -Spike 'Tolerance allows the weeds to overwhelm the garden' |

Oh I guarantee the Maxima would have sustained FAR more damage on Rocker Panel Pass than the Blazer did. Lowered 3 inches on coilovers with an open diff, I wouldn't have made it anywhere near the first obstacle before it broke. The problem is the new tires I bought. Too much traction, too much width, not enough axle. Brent 1972 K5 Blazer |

I backed into a volkswagen-sized rock and did a number on my passenger tail light and bodywork...

I sheared a grade 8 9/16" shackle bolt on a rock. Terence found a pile of washers in the middle of the Log Corral obstacle...that prompted me to look. Drove half the obstacle with just one side of my left side shackle still moving with the spring.
Fortunately, I carry spare bolts. 1998 Frontier 4x4, 2002 Xterra 4x4, and Z28 street rocket Pass here and go on. You're on the road to heaven - Kerouac |

I had some carnage, nothing to bad though. I got a nice dent in the rear of the bed, and a couple small dents elsewhere. The big thing was that I didn't make it home under my own power. I got up to Payson and my clutch was gone. I parked behind a market and waited for my sister to come with the trailer. About 6:45pm, we got it loaded. I got to tow it home with a nice 06 Ford diesel truck. Pretty nice tow rig, but I like my buddy's 07 Duramax better. Ordering a new clutch now...

Although I welded that Driveshaft, John gets credit for cutting it straight and placing it before I welded it. I suck at those kind of things and he doesn't so I asked him to do the cutting/placement..

I have a broken exhaust bracket (which in turn might have damaged the manifold...smelling bad exhaust), busted off road lights, new pinstriping, leaking engine oil pretty good, a damaged beadlock (maybe tire).
I am sure there are a few other things, but that is the majority of it. ----------------------------- My myspace page. TUPPERWARE!!!! "Never argue with an idiot, they will just drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience." |

Bent my tie rod due to bad spotting on my part. I also got a few new scrapes under the truck. No other damage though. Other than that, the pirate ship performed flawlessly.
The mog on the other hand is leaking at several spots on the front axle, despite having new seals. |

My XJ performed great. I had to fill my Right Rear Tire with Air at Sunflower Mine. Procastinate a slow air leak & tire almost pulled out of the bead...
Thanks Jim for your help Dennis |

Broke a rear leaf on Payett. (Thanks Mike, for the Waggy packs.)
Ravaged my carrier bearing on Rocker panel. JW spotted the source of my vibration Friday on Sunflower Mine Loop. I trail fixed it with rope and folowed Datz to the top of the mountain. Later, I did this semi-permanent repair for the trip home. The plastic skids took seversl hits, judging by the scratches, but they held up great. Definitely a keeper. Gas tank guard took a hit, but saved the tank. Still at full capacity. |

durn.... I'd forgotten all about your plastic skids.... I wanted to have a look at them in person.
