We'll be streaming live from camp over cell phone broadband at http://swanky.camstreams.com. We might even be able to broadcast some live trail run video depending on cell coverage. Otherwise we'll stream the days video after dark.

The test loop will be randomly on and off the air between now and the run.

Sure. The laptop I'm bringing has a four pin firewire port.

Between my Sprint coverage and Marshall's Verizon we should be able to do pretty well streaming to the net from camp. I'll have the PC software along so we can use whichever machine gets the best signal.

Oh - and I'll be running the pool on how long it takes for System-F to stick his willy in the cam and shake it for all to see.

Gotta keep it clean - acceptable use policy and all - the internet side is on a hosted service. And yea, the world will only see what we choose to show them.

that will make it sooo much worse to not be there. maybe some day i'll be able to make it down, just gotta find a better job first.

The idea was to make it a little better, not worse.

The test feed is up so you all can get a sense of how chunky the cell phone video connection is going to be. I'm fiddling with the settings to see how good we can get it. Right now it is chunky and choppy to minimize bandwidth and maximize simultaneous connections. We should be able to support 10 or 15 viewers at once.

I am also bringing a Cingular Crackberry that works as a tethered modem. last year we were posting pics on this site on the way home...and looking at ..... to stay awake

That just about gives us enough technology to hold internet votes for stick duty.
